Greetings in the lovely name of JESUS, our wondrous eternal Lord and Saviour!

I am a new-comer, and as such would enjoy a scriptural-based discussion with others, seeking to learn of their thoughts concerning whom they believe was the very first prophet of God (i.e., one whom He elected as His human spokesman to speak unto others of things regarding Himself). Please provide a multiplicity of scriptural passages to support your views.

Thanks!

nope.....no trap intended! I believe that your answer is correct, however, pls provide some insight regarding the underlying reason why you embrace such a belief (including some scriptural passages in support thereof). I would also appreciate your definition of what a "spiritual death" implies/infers. tks!

In Genesis 2:21-25, after YHWH formed woman from the side of Adam and presented her to Adam, Adam said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of man." That may be considered a prophesy. Then later when Abel offered the blood sacrifice, he did it by faith (Hebrews 11:4) We are told that faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Romanss 10:17) so we assume Abel had heard that from his parents.

In the Book of Jude, verse14 it says "enoch...the seventh from Adam, prophesied...."

In Genesis chapter 9, after Noah awakend from his drunken stupor, prophesied about his three sons and their futures.

In Genesis 20 we read of one of Abraham's lapses of faith. God spoke to king Abimelech and in verse 7, God called Abraham a prophet. As far as I know this is the first time the word "prophet" occurs in the Bible.

His NAME is Jesus!

Adam was the first prophet.
There is no evidence that God told Adam that he was to create a woman from his SIDE; but when Adam SAW the woman, he called her "...BONE of my bones, and FLESH of my flesh..." Then he prophesied again, saying, "Therefore shall a man leave his FATHER and MOTHER..." What father and mother?????
It was needful for the Prophet to be called first; and from him, the Church. "How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?"

Adam, etc., might be considered prophets, but Moses was the first writing prophet. There were prophets before and after Moses who did not write their prophecies. That Moses was a prophet, Hosea 12:13 makes it clear that he was...

Hosea 12:13 And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.
We would not even know of Adam, etc., were it not for Moses (who wrote Genesis). But was Moses really the first writing prophet?

The book of Job has passages in it that are highly prophetic. Many scholars consider it to be the oldest book of the Bible. If Job wrote before Moses, he (or if he didn't write it, whoever wrote the book of Job) would be the first writing prophet.

...

The words, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh" may not have been spoken by Adam but could have been commentary by Moses.
