The purpose of this thread is to hear from ladies who have a call of God to preach. (Please do not debate your opinions of lady preachers on this thread.)
Ladies:
1) How and when did you know that God had called you to preach?
2) What kind of opposition do you face and how do you deal with it?
3) What type of support network do you have?
4) What counsel would you give to ladies who feel a call to preach, but are prohibited from doing so by their local church?
5) How would others describe your ministry?
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Akacts238
I posted how God called me in the ministers forum under introductions.
I have no opposition. In all the years I have been in the ministry Jesus takes care of everything and opens the doors he wants and closes those he wants as well. Its not a career but a call.Lots of difference.
My support network is my family and saints and ministers I have known for years.
I would tell ladies who feel a call to stay put.Sometimes we have things ahead that we need training for and even if you are not preaching behind the pulpit you ought to be doing the max you can to help the pastor that God sent you to help. Its not like the world where people are looking to further their career. We are looking to further the work of the kingdom and need to stand together. And also need not gripe about it.
I have no idea how others would describe my ministry.Except that I know I am a missionary.I work in partnership with my pastor who is my husband.Because of this particular situation Prayer is my main call.I teach, preach and practice prayer in my own life. You have to do it or you cannot be the example nor the leader you need to be.I am also the Ladies Pastor. We divide up responsibilities. And because of this our church is able to be more productive as we are not so bogged down.We counsel couples together or if a situation is difficult we pray and fast and counsel together. But I want to add that I submit to my husbands authority regardless. If he says no its no because he is my pastor as well.lv sis.c

Good advice, Sis. Cooper.
Love, Sis. Wenona
I was called to the ministry the day I was born again of water and spirit. Praise the Lord.

How are you fulfilling that call Joan? Tell us somewhat about yourself.lv sis.c
One way is by being a keeper of my home and obedient to my husband so I better go do that now and write more later when I've finished one of my responsibilities as wife and mother. I would love to share more about myself and get to know y'all too.
I have many things in the Kingdom that excite me and women's ministry is one of my favorites. But, I'll have to write more another time.
Joan
OK, I have a minute to write something. You asked how I was fulfilling my call to ministry. One way is by seeking through prayer, fasting and Bible study for myself how to better please the Lord in my own personal walk. I listen for the Lord's voice for instruction. In practical terms, I have done all kinds of ministry. For example, bible study teacher, prayer leader, ladies ministry teacher, mentor, keeper of the home, obedient to my husband, sunday school teacher, worship leader, home group leader, homeschooling mom, etc. I have a time or two in my life "preached" the gospel from the pulpit with a microphone in my hand. I'm a big believer in elderships, although I'm not a guy so I can't be an actual elder (even if I could find a church that had biblical elders) but I make the qualifications of an elder a goal and Titus 2 a goal for my life. I have some interest in politics, I just don't think it's the right season of my life for it yet.
Ministry is doing my part in the Kingdom of God, whatever the Lord directs me to. I'm still growing and learning and seeking that out. But I know I've been called to minister so wherever the Lord leads me, I will (hopefully) follow.
