The conference theme is "Behold the Bridegroom Cometh!"
I plan to decorate for a wedding complete with drink fountain and wedding cake.I also am searching for used wedding dresses to put on forms around the sanctuary. If anyone has a good recipe that you have tried or done for a wedding or types of arrangement or any kind of ideas I would apprieciate you sharing them with me.Thanks.Sis.c:idea:
Plus if you've been to a great ladies conference lately how about giving us a full report..because you know you want to tell somebody....

Hey, Sis.
I was part of a play at a church I used to go to....with the same theme.
A few ladies dressed in wedding gowns walked down the aisle, singing to the Lord a hymn of their choice, one of consecration and dedication to the Lord.
I sang this song by gospel artist Daryl Coley (my Lord, the man can sing and is mad anointed!) 'To Live is Christ'
All the brides were seated in chairs placed at the altar in a semicircle, while scriptures from Revelations was read. The church was decorated like a wedding, candles, streamers, the works.
It was like we were really getting married, except it was to the Lord! It was actually quite beautiful!
A sister in the church lent me her African bridesmaid dress, complete with hairdress and everything. B/c I could not afford to buy or rent a wedding dress.
I loved being a part of it!
Hope some of this gives you some ideas! This was at a COGIC, too! What more of a blessing it would be from a church that knows the truth!
Love, Sis. Wenona

Well, this is similar, perhaps a bit off topic, but I remember a conference a few years back with the theme of the book of Esther, with reference that "the sceptre has been extended to you"...the stage was set with a huge throne, decorated beautifully, with other things as well, along with a large bejeweled scepter, somewhere I have a picture of me standing next to it, holding the scepter.
But anyway, the main part of the celebration was that for each of our 27 churches in the district, one woman was to represent her church and dress as Queen Esther! What a beautiful procession, you wouldn't believe, (I got chills and cried) every type of royal dress imagineable, from simple to ornate, some period dresses, with their hair all done up, the works, it was awesome, and the others (there was about 200 sisters there) were to vote for one WINNER, and it was a hard choice, but finally one got to sit on that throne AS Queen Esther!
That was one of the most spiritual ones I have been to, it was beyond words to describe, and it was my FIRST ladies camp meetings, there's one evey year, last year I didn't go, but the theme was "let you light shine forth" I heard it was beautifully decorated with lighthouse type stuff, great conferences, etc.
Anothe smaller mini-conference/seminar I did atttend was one with the theme of the "Garden of Gethsemane"; there were many activities throughout the day, one was a prayer study broken into three groups, each one pertaining to a particular need we might have, be it anger, or submission, or depression, etc., and deep prayer followed, (more tears) all this before the main conference dealing with Jesus prayer in the garden, the front of the church, altar area, was lavishly decorated like a garden-Awesome!
Well, I may have gone off the edge here a bit. God Bless your conference, wish I could go! Sounds truly edifying. Have you arranged for the music-perhaps a string quartet!? :)
And today, at our church is Pastor's Day, lots of preparations, (I have a turkey in the oven one of 2 I'm in charge of along with other food!) decorations, have been made, its gonna be a great day, lots of visitors, etc.! GOD IS SO GOOD!

Yes Sister, I'm here to help:) I'm really excited about it. I just want the Lord to use me and direct me to do whatever He wants me to for this special Ladies Meeting in Sept. I know if we'll do our best to make it great He'll do the rest. Which will be encouraging and blessing His handmaidens so that we can continually walk with Him and be ready to stand in His presence when this ole life is over. Yes, we were going to go with the purple and have the floor length weren't we. I was to get the fabric for the main table to go against the wall and then decorate the other tables. Are we going to site down at them? Or go and sit in the chairs? Let me know. For we might use the other tables moved around in other areas. I was thinking of a Throne. Do we know where we can get one. Or who to make one for us? Just an idea. I'm soooo excited. Of course, you know me. I love to decorate. I told Bro. Bertrand that I would be going to your place in Sept. Labor Day to help you with the Ladies meeting and he said, Sister are you going to speak. I thought I'd die. I said of course not, I can't do that. He seems to think other wise. He was happy for me. Of well, my brain must keep thinking of more ideas for it. Let me know your input.

Hey thats not a bad idea.I am getting speakers ready today.I contacted one lady who is a great speaker. She is 26 and single. The other lady is elder and has lots of experience in fact sister Alvear mentioned her to me.I always include one lay speaker. That would be great if you could be that one.If you like you could give helpful hints at decorating, ladies meetings etc.One lady last year who was the lay speaker gave advice on how to make your home more pleasant for your husband after a hard days work. When she was finished I wanted to be just like her....go figure...lv sis.c :ninja:

I would love to help you out there being your Lay speaker, you know this is not my specialtess but, where the Lord leads I'll follow. I'll be in much prayer about it. I count it an honor for you to even consider me. I'm soooo excited about it. I have alot of Ladies meetings for this year. I'll be gleaning soooo much from them all that I should be spiritually FAT:laugh: by the time I see you in Sept. I've ordered from Avon lots of different lady stuff, for the hands, feet, powder, lotion etc. I thought it would make nice baskets for your Speakers. I think I'll have about 4 will that be enough? Let me know what else I can do for you.
