View Full Version : Covered by Water

In the beginning, the earth was without form and void and
God moved upon the face of the water. It was not until the
third day that Land appeared out of the water.

On the fourth day, God put life in the water and upon the earth and in the sky. He made the beasts, and the fowls, and the fish, and all creeping things. He gave dominion of all but the fish in the sea to man. He told man to have dominion over the fish.

In the days of Noah, God covered the face of the earth for the second time, to destroy all wickedness. He destroyed everything that was upon the earth, and the fowls did not have a resting place. He destroyed all that man had dominion over.

Jesus told his disciples to be fishers of men. We are to pull men out of the waters.

Technically, the birds did have resting places. All the floating debris and driftwood would have been their resting places.

Recall however, that until the water receded, the raven could not find a place to land. It took a couple of times of sending him out that he did not return.

That's true... :)
Just saying, if there was no where for them to rest, all birds would have either died of exhaustion or drowned.

Who knows, maybe the ark was their resting place.

Sorry, didn't mean to take your topic on a tangent.

His Name is Jesus!

On the FOURTH day, God made the lights in the firmament...
On the FIFTH day, God created life in the air and in the water. I believe this testifies of how man is to reveive life: by being "...born of the water and of the Spirit..."

The Ark Floated for over a year.

'EVERY LIVING CREATURE'

Genesis 7:3
Of fowls also of the air by sevens,

Only what Noah put on the ark survived.

That is true, Brother Bishop, everything that was on land or in the air that was not in the boat with Noah perished. But the fishes of the sea survived. Because they do not breathe air, they breathe WATER. Noah and his family were lifted up by the water, and so they were safe. But the same water that saved them was the condemnation of the world.

But the fish of the sea were safe in the water.

If you read the account of creation, God created, then He made.
The fourth day gives purpose to that which was created on the first.
The fifth day gives purpose to that which was created on the second.
The sixth day gives purpose to that which was created on the third.

Man was given dominion over the birds, the beasts and the creeping things, but God says, "Have dominion over the fish."
That was a commandment that man was to carry out.

His Name Is Jesus!

So, what did God CREATE on the first day, ans how does that pertain to us?

The third day of Genesis saw the dry land appear, not dry land "created." That is resurrection! On the third day! Sound familiar?

Life also existed for the first time on the third day! Without the resurrection Holy Ghost power, we have no life.

Noah's ark rested on Ararat. Ararat means "THE CURSE IS REVERSED". Praise God!

The first thing that told Noah there was life was the olive leaf in the dove's mouth! Sort of like the anointing (olive oil was anointing oil) that came upon Jesus when He came up out of the water when Baptized by John.

Anyway, both Adam and Noah were told to not eat certain things, after the earth's waters receded and they were placed in the "land". Adam could not eat fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. All the fruit, including the forbidden fruit, was pleasant to the sight and good for food (Compare Gen 2:9 with Gen 3:6). But the forbidden fruit had one thing the others lacked, that made it deadly. 3:6 says it also was a tree "to be desired to make one wise." SELF-EXALTATION!

Similarly, Noah was told to eat all meats except meat that was not shed of its blood! Adam's counterpart forbidden food would slay him. Similarly, without shedding of blood, Noah could not eat the meat. Sounds like something else very familiar!

Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins, and -- death -- we die in our sins!

Religion is like that. If the religion has no shed blood involved, IT IS DEADLY! Self-exalting religions do not rely upon God's grace, but man's good works, and they therefore lack shedding of blood of Christ. THEY ARE DEATH! (Much of many forms of christianity also rely upon works to save man, and they are deadlier than anything else!)

...just some thoughts about the issue after reading of your topic on the comparison of Eden and Noah.

the midst of the days of creation is the same as the before and after the cross.
The promise was in the midst of the years, just like Leah Rachel.
In the midst of the days Jacob was given his brides, First law then grace. Kind of like Jew and gentile, free and bond.

Think of this, people back then lived 10 times as long, which means they had many more children than today.

The population before the flood could of been anywhere between 6 and 8 billion.

I've been interested in anomalous artifacts for some time now, I have reason to believe that before the flood that there was an industrial civilization of some sort.

Accurate,

The following informatioon is really "out there", but for what this is worth, I came across an interesting hypothesis by a preacher who said that Genesis man was trying to reach beyond the bounds set by God, due to man's sin, and God stopped it.

He felt that the tower of Babel was just that effort. It was more than a tower, but an observatory for the zodiac system. But he also felt it was even more.

He went into a lot of discussion about the tunnels in the pyramids. If you've ever seen a diagram of the tunnel it is a singular tunnel going into the pyramid at approximately a 20 degree angle downward. And then another tunnel goes downward from there, and the first continues across, and another up from there in a sharp angle with steps. Something like that.

Anway, this form of tunnel has stupefied many. But the preacher proposed that if the land around the pyramid base were covered with a thin sheet of metal, the tunnel arrangement in the pyramid would make for a perfect radio receiver!

These Egyptians knew Pi! Otherwise they could nto make the pyramids. That was only rediscovered in Greece a relatively little while ago!

And they fit those blocks together until a sheet of paper cannot fit between them! So the preacher felt they were capable of much more than what many think. Even the paint on the hieroglyphics is still colourful today. We still cannnot make paint like that! They had asphalt and glass -- all technologies that were rediscovered in a relatively short time ago from us.

He then went on to say that God placed us in this galaxy near the spiral "rim". In the center of the galaxy are so many clusters of huge stars that had earth been created there, we'd never see a night sky! ANd without seeing a night sky, we'd never realize other stars are out there... a vast expanse of space stretched out. So God may have put us where we are to put a yearning within us and to realize there must be a God, and something more "out there."

But sin cut man off. However, sinful man tried to reach beyond his boundaries and reach out into the expanse of space using the tower of Babel. And God stopped it.

The guy went on and on about how that the solar system is simply out of whack. There is an asteroid belt -- the remnant of a planet that was wiped out -- between Mars and Jupiter (if I recall the ordering properly). And Pluto swings way off orbit in contrast to the other planets. Venus rotates contrary to all other planets in the system. Craters abound on the moon.... all of this shows chaos in the solar system. The writer hypothesized that when Satan fell it was not just planet earth that was a battle field. The physical universe was the battle field! Thus, the chaotic state.

Anyway, the writer said that man is getting there once again in technology. They had more than what many think back in those ancient times.

Einstein lived so many years, and look what his mind figured out. Imagine Adam living 930 years, and far more brain capacity than little old "Einy"! Man uses only 10% of actual brain capacity. Imagine using 100%?

I am sure God created our minds originally with Adam to operate fully. Adam named all the creatures!

Dear Bro. Blume,
I've read your response, thanks. Hehe, that is "out there" like you said. Which goes to show us will never understand as long we are still here on earth. Which makes the rapture even more exciting! We may even know all the answers one day to the history of the world to whatever extent, but who knows. But more than anything, we will know Christ even better :)

And about the mentality of man back then verses now, just as you said, by their old age and a full brain-- they must of had plenty of time to tinker around with what they had avaliable.

I wonder sometimes why the Lord made us such curious about life around us, lol.
