Here is the recipe that I found on the web in several different places. It is not copyrighted material so it can be freely shared.
1 C. water at room temperature
1 t. salt (I dont use it)
3 T. margarine (I use unsalted butter)
1 T. honey(do not omit) P.S. never give honey to a baby.
3 C. all purpose flour
1/4 C. powdered milk
2 t. sugar
1 and 1/2 t. dry yeast
Add ingredients into your bread machine according to your specific machines instructions.
This is what I do:* *I have added some extra ingredients because I do not use salt*
Add 1 C.water
then add 3 C.flour
add 1/4 C.dry milk powder
add 1T vital wheat gluten (I add this because I DO NOT use salt)
1 t. fruit fresh or vitamin C (because I do not use salt)
2 t. sugar (I have used SPLENDA)
1 T. honey (this keeps the bread fresh)
3 T. margarine (not light margarine) or use butter(I use unsalted butter)
then add 1 and 1/2 t dry yeast ( try adding more yeast if you use 100% whole wheat flour)
then select "dough" cycle on your bread machine. When dough cycle is ready take the dough out and put into a greased bread pan
or make sandwich buns. Cover with waxed paper that has been sprayed with PAM spray, let rise until almost doubled and bake for about
20-25 minutes in a 350 degrees oven.
Cool and slice and enjoy.
HINTS: I sometimes add 1/4 C. raisins and add 1t. cinnamon for cinnamon raisin bread.
You can also sub 1 C. of whole wheat flour.
I have subbed 1 C. of rye flour and added 1 t. caraway seeds for sort of a rye bread taste.
This makes very good french toast bread.
I think this bread when the dough cycle is through
would make an interesting pizza dough. Enough for 2 large pizzas.
