Seeking

After coming into the knowledge of the truth and the Apostolic Doctrine, I often hear people talk about "seeking God", especially in regards to being filled with the Holy Ghost. What does your definition of seeking include and what are the steps to seek God, the steps to seek the Holy Ghost, the steps to seek God's will? Any scriptures would be appreciated as well....
