The other day I heard this speaker, I don't know his name
nor do I know what church he is affilated with but what he
had to say caught my attention.

The message was Take care of those that God gave you.
He was talking about how often times we are trying so
hard to reach those outside that we forget or neglect
the ones that God has given to us. While we should be
encouraged to reach beyond our walls we should never
miss the ones that are already there.

This rung true to me. I really checked myself on this one.
Which I often do when I hear something.
I thought how often do we over look the ones God gave us.
While busy seeking others. Our children our mothers
our dads our sisters our brothers our aunts our uncles
our close friends...........How many do we overlook as we
seek beyond.

I thought on how Often I have heard people use the term
"my four and no more." I guess in a way I forget sometimes
that those four matter just as much as the others. I must
confess personally I felt conviction. I thought on how my
aunt Brenda and cousin Tiffany just recently recieved
the holyghost and how many times my aunt has called
me telling me how awfully and terribly lonely she was.
I spend time on the phone with her but know that I could
have done more. Yet God reached out and blessed them.

I thought too how sometimes we tend to treat strangers
better than our own family. We may say things to family
and friends
that we wouldnt dare say to a stranger.
I want to be certain that when its all
said and done I don't hear God say , where are the ones
that I gave you?

Wonderful post sister.

Lord forbid that I should be so caught up in trying to win the "world", that I would neglect my own loved ones and their need for soul salvation.

i only have one sister and now she and my mom follow me to church and thank god i never had to force them to go to church. ( they just followed me one day to church and now they have made it their church too). i love them so much. (tear, tear) and yes i also have heard the same thing. reach your loves ones first and then expand your vision.
