There are three questions regarding Baptism in which the Church must have at least a basic understanding.
1) Is Baptism necessary?
2) What is Baptism for?
3) In which Name should one be Baptized?

This questions should be covered in any situation when witnessing the Gospel.

1) Yes it is because.......
2) No Baptism....No remittence of sins
3) Baptism in the Name of Jesus.

I completely agree with You and MawMaw.

Our witnessing should involve the gospel message of man's depravity and disobedience to the laws and will of God. From there, we proclaim Christ, and the grace of God, that though they were sinners, Christ died for them. Then, if they have been pricked in their heart, they can be led to their need for repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.

In other words, they must know the why before they can completely understand the how. When they understand the why, the how becomes so easy.

His NAME is Jesus!

I have always believed that the "why" is called repentance. A man cannot repent except he believes that he has something from which to repent. Then there comes the question asked in Acts 2:37, which is: "...what must we do..." to be saved and not be guilty of the Lord's crucifixion.
The question(s) in this post are regarding baptism: is it necssary, what is it for, and in which NAME must one be baptized? This, is course, is part of the Gospel mesage.
