I'm posting this in hopes that someone could advise me about this...

How do you go about inviting someone to church when you travel 45 min. to an hour to get there? It's unlikely that someone would actually come because of the distance.

We have a local Pentecostal church here and I used to attend it. I was at the church for 14 years and there are a great deal of problems there (more than the usual church) and I wouldn't feel right in directing them that way.

What other options are there? I'd like to invite people, but would they really come? I want to help in my community, not just in where I go to church. I don't think a person would want to travel to church with a complete stranger.

Have any of you been in a similar situation? What did you do?

Thank you for any advice I receive! It's greatly appreciated!:)

His Name is Jesus!

I believe many of us can share in your problem, Beloved. I hope the 45 minutes you ravel to your local congregation is not all freeway!
The question you posed needs to be presented to the Ministry/elders. I would begin a House Bible-study, and invite some neighbors. This is what I personally did in like situation. Then I found another brother had also started one in the same area. After discussing it with the elders, we joined the two groups...and we now have another sanctuary (temple) with someone else pastoring!
Naturally, everyone was urged to go where they felt led of the Lord.

YES! some will come. I worked about 45 min from My home town where my church was. I used to witness to coworkers and so on...Some did come. One even got the Holy Ghost . He Lived about 1.5 hr away, but after getting saved he moved to our town. So yes some will come, it is harder, but it can work. When the Spirit touches and convicts they will make the drive.

I went thru a very similar situation myself for a few years. You can try to give them ride every other week to get them on board. Also , a group in the midweek at your place with other saints nearer to your area can be amazingly effective...ive seen many added to the Church that way. Home groups truly are the missing element to the revival God has for us today in many areas , and many many churches have started "cell groups" or home groups already. Justa couple of ideas.
