Focus on The Family is sponsoring an anti-abortion commercial during the Super Bowl on Feb. 7. The 30-second spot is under heavy attack from pro-abortionists.

Excerpts from the article:
Florida quarterback Tim Tebow embraces his mother, Pam. The two are featured in a pro-life Super Bowl ad that has rankled some women's groups.
College football phenom Tim Tebow is about to become one of the biggest stars of Super Bowl XLIV — and he's not even playing in the game.
Tebow, the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback for the University of Florida, and his mother Pam will appear in a pro-life commercial that tells the story of his risky birth 22 years ago -- an ad that critics suggest could lead to anti-abortion violence, even though none of them have seen it.
Attacks on the ad, which has been seen by only a handful of people, are mounting. The Women's Media Center is coordinating a campaign with the National Organization for Women and other women's groups to launch an online petition and letter-writing campaign targeting CBS. Another petition set up on Jan. 22 has garnered over 8,000 signatures.
One group has gone so far as to say this organization is intolerant, divisive and pushing an un-American agenda. Huh???? The kicker is that these people haven't even seen the ad..... Go figure??

Well I hope CBS has the guts to stick with playing the ad!

I hope they play the ad, too. What the abortionists REALLY want to stop is any kind of healthy, positive message from the pro-life group. If we actually have an ad that shows we're acting out of compassion and not because we're all a bunch of doctor-killing clinic-bombing quacks, we might have a little sway. THAT'S why they don't want the ad to run. Because it's reasonable. :)
I can't wait for the game! :yay!: :yay!: :yay!:

I don't have a t.v., but I would like to watch the game. Mainly for the commercials and halftime shows. The ad should prove to be quite the tear jerker. I don't think the feminists really think abortion is about women's rights at all. I think it is based on the attitude of not being told what to do by men. This came to me when I was pregnant with my last child, and my husband kept trying to police what I ate. He would get on to me for wanting chocolate or soda pop. I resented it and started saying some of the same stuff like, "don't tell me what to do with MY body", and "I'm in charge of this baby, and NOT you" type stuff. So I guess in a way I sympathize, but I would NEVER cause my baby to suffer just to prove a point.
What I find appalling about the whole abortion issue is that these women are cruelly using babies as the stepping stone. If feminists were really concerned about fighting laws telling them what to do with their bodies, then they need to start with tackling the prostitution laws.
I'm going to get attacked for this, but I completely and totally agree with what Roeder did to Tiller. I think the ones who should be worried are those of us (me included) who stood by and did nothing but complain while knowing these kids were being killed. All the protests in the world did not accomplish what Roeder accomplished with just one piece of lead. Last time we drove through Witchita, me and hubby tried to put money on his books. I think a person forfeits their right to life when they take innocent life. Why is it okay for the govt. to execute criminals who blow people away? Or when the military blows away terrorists, along with unintended civilians, in an effort to prevent bloodshed among more innocents?
It is interesting that we will commonly employ the use of killing among groups yet condemn and incarcerate individuals who do it.

So what do you suggest we do with someone that is a murderer or a child abuser. Do we just slap them on the wrist and say don't do it again. Or do we put them in prison, give them TV to watch, weight rooms to exercise in and all the things that they could possibly want. Any suggestions?

Well, I would usually agree with you, but I may be watching the Super Bowl with a bunch of colts fans, and if I root for the Saints, they'll kick me out! LOL!!! (That is not an exaggeration. :D)

I think for starters the punishment should fit the crime. We have folks being put in cages for years for smoking a plant, while child rapists get probation. It's screwed up across the board but in general, I think simply applying old fashioned, common sense approaches to our lives would solve a world of problems.
I think drugs should be completely legalized. The laws aren't doing a bit of good anyway. Many laws should be done away with. People should be held responsible for what they, and they alone do. I don't believe in convicting people based on this, "should have known" business. Ground is too rocky. If someone kills another innocent person from being under the influence, then they should be given the death penalty, and it should be carried out in a reasonable amount of time. Cold blooded murderers who kill innocent people, (like Tiller) along with most robbers should be hung or shot.
Child Abuse is a pretty general term, but if it's brutal, and shocking in nature, even if committed ONCE, it should also merit the death penalty. Rape of ANY kind, whether with grown woman or kid, then death penalty should be used ABSOLUTELY. Any conviction, should of course, be backed up by DNA.
I'm being general of course. Individual and unusual cases call for individual reviews. There is also the factoring in of innocent people being convicted. But I think if harsher measures were handed down, then the conviction of innocent people would actually decrease. With the penalty of immediate death put on the table, then this flippancy of the courts in getting convictions at all costs would come to a halt. After all, the courts are made of people who could be found guilty too.

I get bored with football pretty soon into the game. So I think I'll just watch pre-game, halftime, and some commercials. :)

The problem is that we cannot take the law in our own hands. There is this movement in the US that we should: if someone shoots at someone we should always be ready to shoot back. That worked well in the wild west, where the strongest with the biggest guns and the best aim prevailed, regardless of justice, but we are no longer in the wild west.
If someone thinks it is OK to murder a murderer, then that someone should also be ready to be murdered by someone else. So this guy Roeder should insist on getting the death penalty for what he did. Indeed, if it is OK for him to shoot an abortionist, it is a case of murdering a murderer, then logic dictates that it is OK to murder that murderer. This can go on forever, and in some societies it does.
And if it is OK to murder a murderer, let's get rid of the criminal justice system altogether, we don't need it! It's just "big government", and a waste of money! Just be sure everyone is armed and ready to shoot. But I for one do not wish to live in a society where everyone administers their own justice.

Sorry I haven't responded sooner, but I had my internet cut off in hopes of finding cheaper service somewhere else. I'm tired of paying the crazy prices and would rather do without out or use someone else's computer.
I guess I see your point on this. But at the same time, I can't help but compare it to someone killing their neighbor when they discovered him in the act of choking or stabbing a small child. This involves a guy who was actively killing MANY children. I know it is considered legal, but I have a feeling that is going to be a poor excuse when those of us who did nothing have to stand before God on judgement day. Right or wrong, I would rather be in Roeders shoes any day then probably even my own.
What I would like to know is what has happened to all the babies that were born since then who's mothers were unable to get another appointment with a different doctor in time immediately after tillers death? I realize there are privacy laws concerning contact with these people, but I can't help but notice that absolutely no one is even talking about it. No one is even being theoretical or hypothesizing about what happens to the mothers or babies in general when this happens.
Absolutely loved this commercial! It was totally classy. Of course, we are also a football family & are big fans of Tim Tebow! In this day & age it's good to see an athlete that is a good role model. Even though our team (the Colts) lost, we still enjoyed watching the game & most of the commercials. Oh well, there's always next year!:)
