I know that the bible says that a married woman should not work outside the home. But,what does it say about single women?

I personally don't believe that the bible says that women should not work outside the home. Married or single. This is just my opinion of course. :)

I do believe that its best if the woman doesn't have to work outside the home. Especially when children are involved. But I don't believe its a biblical mandate for them to stay home.

Although some will argue that they didn't work "outside" the home, I believe we have biblical examples of married women that did work outside the home. The proverbs woman being one of them. But again, just sharing my opinion on the matter. ;)

Well actually I have always worked outside the home. Mainly because I have no husband to support me. Living with my mom at 39 years old,and having her support me would be silly. So I have always worked. It may be different ,if I ever get married.

I am married and I work outside the home and I have children. We are not the rich folks but the Aquilla and Priscilla class we have to work. But if I didn't I would love to be a stay at home mom.I work seven and seven, twelve hour shifts for a nursing company. This means I am home every night and get the other free weeks to be a full time mom.I had to get an education first in order to do this so it wasn't easy. But I can tell you all that there are days I just don't want to go in but I cannot just now.And believe me it isn't so we can have fancy cars and big houses. It is because my husband is a full time pastor of a home missions work and has a new computer business. We are missionaries.I was a stay at home mom when my children were babies. It is so hard fior moms to work and have small children.I only worked out my maternity leave and brother took over from there. We had less but it was worth it.lv sis.c

God has truly blessed us. My children are 5 and 8 while they are in school I sit with an elderly and disabled aunt I leave her house at 1 or 1:30 and have time to go home and "collect" myself before I see the kids. When there were younger I would babysit another kid or two to supplement income and also to give my babies a playmate their own age.

Blessed is the woman (that is worth far more than their loved ones will ever know)
That rises early to cover her husband, children, family and friends with prayer and seeketh her strength from the Lord.

And feedeth her family on manna from Heaven as she rushes about to get everyone out the door to school, work and various appts.
and still slides to the time clock on time for an 8-12-16 hr day that a world of others might also be blest through her contributions.

Blessed is the woman that can smile as she races through traffic to gather her family, run errands and slide into home and still speak with love and kindness as she throws a load of laundry on,

folds the ones that she left drying on her way out the door this morning and places on slow burner and oven a nourishing meal as she picks up all the evidence throughout the house that people live there on a daily bases.

Blessed is the woman who

Races to the mirror to touch up flyaway hair, brush her teeth, and dab a little perfume on as she makes for the kitchen to dress a table for the evening meal so her knight in shining armour can feel like a king when he walks through the door!

Blessed is the woman that can get the children through homework, baths and to bed prayerfully, shower and share a few precious moments with Honey (making him feel like a king and sharing God's Word and prayer together) still smiling.

Blessed is the woman who after all this can fall into a peaceful sleep without having to get up and do something she remembered that could not wait til morning for it would throw her schedule out the window if she happened to get 4-5 hrs of uninterrupted sleep!

And Blessed is the woman who finds time to visit the hurting, take food to an ailing member, and weep with one that is devastated by something in life, and still gets to church in time to pray, with husband and children clean, fed, and happy in the Lord!

Blessed is the Godly working wife and mother for she is worth more to God than anyone will ever know for that is one of the precious ways God reveals His love to mankind.

He made woman.

Just thinking how good God is! And thinking of those He gave me that call me Mom,Honey, Sister and Friend.
And we wouldn't trade places with anyone for this privilage!

Love ya in Jesus!.......Cherokee

Sis. Felicity,
Just wanted to encourage all the working wives and mother's for they carry a great responsiblity in God's work.
A woman that lives for God is an asset to God and her family and does parallel the Proverbs woman.

That is why so many Sisters come to this Board to read and post and visit because they can do it at home for a few minutes between chores, husband and kids, and still fellowship and pray with others as well as listening to good preaching and music that keeps us lifted up in spirit.

I believe that is why God gave us (women) the ability to do fourteen things at once, great big bathtubs, and bubblebath, and that makes us special!

If men only realized it takes such simple little things to bring us joy!

One of the things that causes me to appreciate and love Nightwatchmen is hearing him pray every morning at 4:30
a.m. and cover our family in prayer and seek guidance from God for doing His will.

Just my thoughts.....Love Ya' in Jesus!!...Cherokee

That is absolutely precious. I agree in all aspects.. Knowing that your other-half prays and hearing him pray and seek God would make me fall even more in love with him too. I always had the attraction of guys at the altar seeking God rather than the ones standing around.

I have a friend who worked only because she needed the money which is why we all work I suppose.Anyway she had three small children only one in school in first grade and they had to go to daycare. The neat thing that happened to her after we all got together and prayed in unity was that a job opened in her city which is so small and had no openings and she was able to work out of her home. Now she needs no babysitter.Amen for wonderful Jesus who does all things well.lv sis.c
