Dear Bros & Sisters,
I have been away from the forums for a while due to
health reasons. I had a total thyroidectomy on the
19th of september and have had a rough time adjusting.
My body went into hypocalcemia shock, got that straitened
out, but still having bouts with dizziness, bottoming out
and just plain feeling awful. I need some prayer to cope
with this physical trauma. I had a follow up visit for surgery
and found out from the surgeon that the pathology report
showed that the side of my thyroid that was initially going
to be left in had a very tiny minute start of thyroid cancer
in it and he was glad he removed all of my thyroid.
Initially it was just going to be the side that was strangling
my trachea and voice box but he said once he opened me
up he saw that the other side was just too large to leave
in either, he said cancer was never suspected and both
lobes of my thyroid looked great other than being too enlarged.
That sure was a blessing in disquise. But recovering from this
ordeal has been a nightmare, I am still having times when I
feel like my body is bottoming out and I am just going to slump
over unconscience. I need serious prayer to aid my recovery
I am 30 today and have 2 older children and a 21 month old
who need me. It sure would be nice just to feel normal on most days, if any of you have any experience with thyroidectomies
please write me and tell me of your experience with it, and your prayer is greatly appreciated.
Lots of Love,
Sis. Rodgers
