1. A Pharisee can not be corrected.

2. A Pharisee feels uncomfortable with spiritual authority.

3. A Pharisee will only hear from God. He can not receive from man.

4. A Pharisee has an inclination to see the bad in others.

5. A Pharisee feels he is appointed by God to fix others.

6. A Pharisee thinks himself above others.

7. A Pharisee prayer becomes a performance for all to see.

8. A Pharisee wants recognition for all he does.

9. A Pharisee is critical about the true manifestations of the Holy Spirit.

10. A Pharisee draws attention to himself and not to Jesus Christ.

Let us guard our hearts, lest we stumble and fall in the same manner as they.

Galatians 6:1 KJV Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Jbenjesus- Interesting post.... but may I suggest that point #2 should state that a Pharisee thinks himself the Spiritual Authority.

I also think that point #3 is off track since the Pharisees did NOT hear from God; but by their actions showed that they regarded themselves (although men) the equivilent of God.

I guess if I wanted to I could have corrected some minor details, but I didn't write it. I think it was the general heart and attitude of the Pharisees that was listed, in this author's view.

Yes, the Pharisee does believe himself to be the spiritual authority that only hears from God and doesn't listen to man. That was the gist of the list as I read it.

They called the Lord a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

The accuser of the brethen, the pharisee, the hypocrite. These kind of people that get a thrill to kill. If you told them you went to "New Life", they respond by saying, "You mean No Life". They are the ones that would rather talk garbage than Jesus, the ones that would likely reject the Lord if he showed up at their front door.

I hope this was a good description.

love you all
