John Atkinson

My Mom gave the first one to me. Mother was in super-catholic mode at that time and named me for the John the Apostle.

The last one came likely from some great oaf of a Saxon in England (Yorkshire I'm told) back in the middle ages named "Atkin", who had a son who was called Atkinsson, I guess the name stuck.

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

I took mine from the Scripture Hebrews 11:6, "But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." for evangelistic/outreach purposes.

God Bless!

Well I didn't think we could start threads about "fun" things, people seem so rigid here...as when I sing and praise, etc., and since I can't get into that room, have to do it where and when I can, its my right and privilege, HALLELUYAH!!!

As for my username, its pretty self-explanatory, I believe in
Tough Love , it actually started many years ago, this "novel?" idea or term, of being tough with teens, or even anyone, in carrying out your "verbal" threats to them, or punishment, and not just talk about it., as in "kicking" out a rebellious youth,, ( or husbands!) and then taking them right back and they continue the same, and therefore, do not take you seriously, and may even laugh at your lack of following through. Putting words into action. :redcool:

Gotta take a tough stance, but with love being the primary essence. They used to say that if you really love your kids, you will discipline them., and I feel that is true, even if it hurts you more than them. No compromises, especially where I and our AAFCJ org. stand on holiness! It does hurt to have to take a tough stance with people, children, fellow saints., that I love, but TRUTH can be tough to take, and must be swallowed with a big dose of Living Waters !!
Many may hate me for it, but JESUS doesn't!

SEARCHING: I thought your name had to do with "searching" for the truth! not a username! Your'e cute! :)

Adoniyah or what is the same, "Adonijah."

It means "My Lord is Jehovah."

He is the one true God. There is no other God. The Lord, he is God.

There was an ignoble character in the scriptures by that name. But, there was a worthy character by the same name. I just identify with the name only.

Pastorb, please tell Sis. I think she is a beautiful woman of God!

As for my username, I don't know if anyone here ever heard of the girl's group, "Destiny's Child." They had a popular song out awhile ago named, "Survivor."

Now, don't you all get your feathers ruffled :D, my daughter first heard this song on her school bus. Then she would be singing it around the house...."I'm a survivor, I'm not gon' give up...etc...." I asked her what she was singing. At first I was mad, but realized I cannot shelter her from everything. She has to catch the bus to school, and there are radios on the bus.

Then everywhere I turned on television, the song was being played. As I listened to these very talented, gifted singers, very young, too, I thought to myself, "Self, these greenback, wet behind the ears youngsters don't know nothing 'bout survivin'! I can sit them down and tell them a thing or two..."

I heard the Lord say, "yeah, you right...!" And I was on my way.

I thought I can't just put survivor down, what did I survive. Then I thought of the onslaught on my soul by the devil. So I added 'soul' to it.

Halleluyah! :o

There was a R & B group back in the day called the Soul Survivors, didn't know this until a few months ago, must have been the Lord that led me to add '4 christ' at the end.

And that is how I came up with my username....

Very long explanation for a very long username....:D

(Actually...soulsurvivor4christ is my email username, tried to use it here and it wouldn't register...I guess it was way too long!)

Love Sis. Wenona aka survivor4christ

The username(s) and passwords that I use serve as reminders of who I am, what I want to be or what I should be doing.

Before, I used passwords like

JUSTBELIEVE
PRAYALWAYS
WORSHIPPER
IBELIEVEINONEGOD
THATIMAYKNOWHIM

(But of course, I no longer use them now)

In the old cafe, I used my own nickname. My bestfriend gave it to me.

My real name is Mark Anthony Belosa

In high school, there were so many Mark's in our class so others would call me Belosa or Belo. My bestfriend (who's also responsible for witnessig to me about Jesus) started calling me Beloy (an alt. of my surname) or Kuya Beloy (Kuya means Big Brother). So that's it.

Btw, Beloy also sounds like the Tagalog term for Dimple, which is Biloy. Sometimes, others pronounce it that way coz there's very little difference. But it's cute, I should say.

dabody7

Dabody7
My initials are DBG and I am a personal trainer at a gym so a friend thought that my middle initial stood for "Body" as a nickname but my middle name is Bryan. Ever since then, everyone was calling me the Body at work. My previous e-mail was discontinued due to the amount of porn that was bombarding my address so I changed to another server and my friends convinced me to use the name "dabody." I put the number 7 on there to represent how perfect Jesus is. Some of you may remember me by the name Charlie from the old Good News Cafe. That, too, is another nickname I have at work at my 2nd job. I have 3 women working with me and they always call me Charlie and his angels as a joke from the t.v. show Charlie's Angels.

Faithchild
04-04-2003, 01:34 AM
In the early '70's during the Deeper Life meetings, Mark Hanby and Kenneth Phillips wrote a booklet circulated by the UPCI Home Missions Division called "Faith Child". When I started evangelizing in '73, I put the two words together to form one word, Faithchild Crusades. Through the years it has evolved into Faithchild Communications, soon to be Faithchild Foundation (Btw, the prophesied Faithchild is Jesus. Though we do become children of faith). I lifted the logo of Jesus ministering to someone from a graphics book in '92.

Now you know the rest of the story . . .

Why Bishop1 ?

After I was elevated to the office of Bishop it became my C B radio handle, later becoming my e-mail user name.
My wife is begining to insist upon changing it to 'arch bishop' due to my weight gain.

I spoke at a convention some years back and afterward upon learning that I was called Bishop 1, T.D.Jakes said that he would be Bishop 2. { or did he say Bishop Too ?} I believe that his phone # is 1-800-bishop2.

ANY HOW
Bishop 1 has stuck with me.

so much for this spiritual discussion.

witness4jesus
04-04-2003, 03:45 PM
i have been using the nickname
"witness4jesus" for about 2 years
now on this and various boards.

Pretty obvious: being a witness for Jesus.

But also, from the song, "Daystar",
Lord, I want to be a witness.

A witness is someone who tells what they
have seen and heard. I have seen the
joy of the Lord, the signs of the Holy
Ghost, seen His resurrection power as
evident in the church. Seen His glory
in the sanctuary.

I have heard the truth of Acts 2:38,
the first message of the church, and
probably the last one that will ever
be preached, cause Jesus always has
the last word!

Paz De Cristo
04-04-2003, 05:28 PM
"Paz De Cristo" - "Peace of Christ" ... also the official and formal salutation within the Brethren of Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Christ Jesus (AAFCJ). Many use the shorter version "Apostolic Assembly", or as I like to call it, "AA" (right, Sister Delia??!!)
And for those that don't know, the Apostolic Assembly is the largest Oneness Hispanic Apostolic faith organization in the world.... and growing very rapidly.

Nawbee

I was on the list before, well, several times over the years. Last time I was on, as I always do, I revealed my calling to prophesy. Of course their is no shortage of those who teach, mistakenly, that this is a position of "great authority" (the Authority is in the Word, NOT the man who delivers it and should only be heeded after personal Confirmation by the Spirit of God). So, true to their nature, they assaulted me. Since God Truly Provides the Word to His Children who will listen, they could not impune the Word, so they began to assault my character. Since none actually knew me, it became a game of lies and who would believe them. Many fell victim to this game.

Anyway, as I thought of a user name to use this time, God, with His sometimes very Wry sense of humor took me to the OT Hebrew word: nawbee.

So, I use the name "Nawbee". It means: "prophet".

:D

That only becomes so much funnier in that this group of wolves in sheep's clothing claimed to have a great biblical knowledge...

:D

Of course their were innocent sheep that would have been dragged down by the lies of this group, so God used this name to allow His Word to Prevail.

All honor and glory is His and His alone!

ME:
Its not about color, so lets not go there. You provide no info on your profile, so I doubt you are AAFCJ. I am a proud member of both the "lineage" as well as our organization, into which I was gratefully baptized into invoking the NAME of JESUS CHRIST., [that is] "the family of the one name of OUR ONE GOD"! I have many brethren here! Some may even like me! ;) You are new here at the GNC, I see, Welcome!

There are many NAME OF JESUS organizations, and our particular branch IS made up primarily of Hispanic persons, but never exclude anyone...many of our churches are bi-lingual., and some are primarily English., even! I believe there's some primarily "black" ones too! Merciful JESUS!

As long as we all share that "blood" of JESUS, matters not the exterior skin color! This body is a temporary home for our souls, at best., but the BODY OF CHRIST is eternal!! Halleluyah!!

STMATT:
GOOD question, I had posted it before in our now archives, but in looking for it today, its not there where it was!! I don't know what happened but will investigate...but there is another site for one of our churches in Fresno, CA...that has some info...it can be found at: http://members.aol.com/iglaposfre/fresnoapos.html

People! Chill out! I was merely being facetious with my comments regarding the AAFCJ. I do know that most people don’t know that the AAFCJ exits, especially if you’re not from the southwest where it’s more predominant!! My comment regarding life and salvation outside the UPC, PAW and ALJC was made to an earlier post from someone, don’t even remember who or when, that seemed to think that these were the only oneness organizations that existed. I am truly sorry if I offended anyone. No kidding around here!

TUFLUF: I am of the AAFCJ and have been for over 50 years. I was born into it and I am 4th generation AAFCJ!!! My comment about a diverse plan of salvation was not to be divisive, but to let everyone know that God DOES love us all, and we can ALL be saved, regardless of our color or organization.

I am also not new to the GNC. I just don’t post a lot, but I sure do love reading and watching everyone here! So you see, it’s not always prudent to presume!

STMATT: I just tried to visit the AAFCJ web site so that I could link it for you and it seems to be under construction. If you go to http://www.apostolic-churches.net/search/and visit some of the southwestern state listing, you will see many churches listed under AAFCJ. Especially California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas. Although we do have many churches throughout the country. I will keep checking the web site and let you know when it’s up and running. Que Dios Os Bendiga A Todos! (May God Bless Everyone)!!

I also included a link for St.Matt (luv that name!) I named one of my sons Matthew after the apostle...anyway the link for the Fresno,CA, church has been one of my favorites, I've heard the pastor, Bro.Gaxiola, preach over here once, and I have his book "La Sana Doctrina", very good, he had brought several copies with him. Someone here lately mentioned another preacher with the last name Gaxiola, and I've wondered if they were/are related. I think so.
I do post a lot, no matter what! At least there's one other AAFCJ sister here, (you) there are two other hno's here, you probably know already, and so we have not gone completely w/o notice so far! :D:
