Here are a couple of enhancement possibilities in my mind for the Good News Café. I would only add them If I felt they would be used. The only way I will know that is if you folks tell me,
So here is a poll:

BIG RED NOTE: I will only add these things if I get a poularity vote of at least 50% of the registered membership. So please do vote on this one way or they other.

So, it looks like: "This is THE day, this is the day, that the LORD HATH MADE..."

Nope, not yet, at least 80 members have to vote that they want these things before I go to the expense and effort of providing them. :)

I would be reluctant to add these features because:
1. I would rather view posts that people have put some time and thought into rather than stuff off the top of their head (dandruff) as in a chat room!
2. We already have ample opportunity to talk to each other through instant messaging and the like.
3. Private conversations off the board when pertinent to the subject at hand, rob all of us of the additonal ideas that we might otherwise be exposed to. This is critical because sometimes off beat ideas lead to brand new thoughts that have much merit.
4. If the email worked somewhat like private messages, I am not comfortable with anyone else having access to my email, no matter how much confidence I have in them nor disinterest they express. I value my privacy. (This is no reflection on anyone at the Cafe).
I am just expressing a different point of view.
I certainly appreciate all the hard work Bro. John puts into the Cafe. How could I not?

Sis Third, I hate to break this to you, but unless you are running your own mail server and are encrypting every messege with a PGP key, your email is open season to anyone with root access to your ISP's server (Everyone on Technical staff at your ISP), and anyone with the tools and know how to grab it in transit. Unencrypted email is VERY insecure.
At any rate, I am going to close this poll down in a couple of days anyway. It isn't going to happen.
Besides, I took your advice on the private posting areas , in retrospect that whole thing was rather dense on my part.
I happen to like the GNC as is anyway, why on earth would I want to add more work to me?

Bro John- I guess Jesus was talking about the internet long before we knew it....
For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was anything kept secret, but that it should come abroad (Mark 4:22).
Btw- It's good to know that you can pace yourself. Don't ever forget that "a living dog is better than a dead lion (Eccl 9:4)!

You will not believe it, but I just read this thread for the very first time, I always go down and read everything under the "sticky threads". in the general discussion area.
I would use a chat just for fun. Gotta have fun sometimes! Don't take everything so serious. JMO

Foreverblessed- You make a good point. Perhaps you are right, that nobody should be so serious!

I would also use the chat just for fun. Talking about other issues leads into argument quickly, and I don't like to do that, especially to all my friends here. However, there are many I would love to chat in real time with, as I don't do emails often, and postings here usually don't allow for "personal chats".
