Just wondering how many of the posters here have met other posters in person? If so, who have you met? This morning I had the privilege of meeting Stmatt and his family. They are very sweet people and I hope to get together with them some more in the future. I have also met Paulinfla (where are you, Bro?) and Angie (where are you, Sis?) and Justforgiven (where are you, Bro?). It's really fun to actually meet other posters in person. Sure wish we'd have that long-discussed GNC reunion soon!
God bless,

I have had the privledge of meeting several who post here from time to time.
It was a wonderful privledge to meet Brother Nightwatchman, a man who could teach us all on the subject of Prayer, his precious wife Cherokee, a prayer warrior in her own rite, and soul winner.
I have met brother Nix, brother Tommy Joy came to Houston and was blessed by he and his wife's very precious and beautiful visit.
Refinersfire has been in my crusades and in my home and have enjoyed many wonderful bible studies with him, his wife, little boy and some of his friends.
There are others here that know me but sadly, I cannot say that I remember them specifically.
I don't see brother Ken Douglas here any more, but we have had wonderful time of fellowship, staying up all night long speaking to each other concerning the mysteries of Christ.
In fact, if Brother Nix sees this post, I have lost your phone number, and since I do not have aol anymore, I don't have your address either. The last time we had lunch, you promised that you would buy mine next time. I am still waiting. I am not going to let you off the hook, if I can find you.

Funny you mention Bro Ken Douglass, he must have been active before we got the cafe. Bro Douglass was used of God in the very begining of the Church here in Norwich by way of several prophecies to Bro Rutledge that confirmed the leading of the Holy Ghost.
If anyone knows how to get ahold of Bro. Douglass, please mention that the GNC is in our hands and invite him back!

Adoniyah- I have Xprodical's email address, but I don't have yours since you have left AOL.
I am 100% confident that he would be happy for me to pass it along so that he can buy your lunch!
However, my Email doesn't appear to work through the Cafe.
Email me at Thirdgeneration@Comcast.net and you will be having lunch with X in no time! Bon Apetite!

The last that I heard from Brother Ken Douglas, he was in Aftrica on an Evangelistic tour. He was doing a great work there. That was only four or five months ago. Since I left aol, I lost contact with him.
Brother Douglas was on the Cafe for a long time. For a while he was a moderator. We met on the net, though we knew many, many mutual friends.
We shared a motel room at a conference one night. Needless to say, neither of us slept, staying awake the whole night, until daylight, discussing the good Word of God. Indeed he loves the Word.
I too would love to hear from him.
Sister Third,
I sent you an e-mail. If I can help it, I am not going to let Brother Nix off the hook. He owes me a lunch. :) He is a great brother.

I have now met my good friend Servent.
I had the opportunity to visit the church he attends this last Sunday. I was very impressed at the Spirit I felt. I felt very much at home. Bro Serv, We will be back!!
My mother, who is moving to the Knoxville area, thouroughly enjoyed the service also, and really liked the Pastor. I believe she will eventually make that her home church when she completes her move in August.
I am attempting to plan a trip to Texas to see my Sister in Fort Worth around July. If it materializes, my hopes are to sneak down towards Houston, and meet my daddy, Adoniyah :D!
I would love to see a get together with all you precious people.

I told y'all before. I'll tell y'all again. Y'all are all welcome. Come on down. We'll put a big old brisket on the smoker for those that feast, and we'll have plenty of time to pray and search the Word for those that fast.
The great Lone Star State is alive with the "Blue Bonnets" and East Texas is ablaze with the beautiful Dog Wood trees in thier glorious white blossoms. There are plenty of them on my place.

Serv,
Yes, that does mean I will get to come your way and visit some. My mom really did enjoy the liberty and freedom she felt there. My personal view is that that is where the Lord wants her, and as her son I have voiced it to her :D.
On a side note, we ended up deciding to stay over Sunday night about 5:30pm, but it would have been too late to come back, so we attended a local Apostolic church.
I was saddened. Even as I came toward the front door, I felt an uncertainty in the spirit. Upon going in, I immediately kew something was wrong in the spirit. It was not evident with sight, as everyone had the apostolic uniform on. Yet there was no doubt that something just was not right. My wife and mother went to the restroom, and I sat there just praying to God, "What is wrong here?", and questioning myself to see if it was just me. As the service started, my mother returned and leaned over to me and said, I hope this gets better. I asked her if she felt it too, and she stated she did. My wife later told me she felt an uneasiness also. Well the worship leader began, and the place was shaking, all hands were raised, and there was a semblance of worship. Yet it was like an empty shell. A form of Godliness. I have been in dead services before, but never like this. It literally had a spirit of death in it. The sad part was everyone seemed to be engrossed in the spirit. If it was just me that saw it I would have probably dismissed it. But my mother and wife both saw it also. After about 2 songs they started calling people up for prayer, all the while singing. I took the opportunity God had given me, and made a dash for the door, my family following.
The sad thing is, this is a church where the pastor is well known.

Yeah, I've heard! Seeing all those news pic's of people stranded in the snow, does not look very appealing, true, but I'm sure the summer months are glorious!
Summer here is 75% of the year! Humidity is as unappealing as the high snow banks., yet we do have a beautiful beach here, and its still not a really big city, so we do have breathing room here.,BUT, its growing rapidly of late. :realmad: and its bringing its problems with it, as can be imagined.
Well, how 'bout a summer home and a winter home? I'm dreaming! Many of the smart folks that planned their retirement well, do get to do that, NOT ME.
PRAISE GOD, anyway!

Our pastor and co-pastor were very impressed with him and his spirit. Bro. Adoniyah,
My daughter's husband assists in his father's church in Alabama. They go to the bible conference when ever they can. We just happened to be visiting at the time and got to go, Rex Johnson preached and it was very good! We saw several preachers we probably would not have been blesses to see, if we hadn't got to see. This last BOTT, both of my sons and wives went with their sister and her husband, and they loved it. After being in church for 28 years, we actually getting to spread our wings some and see other churches and saints and it is fun!

Duh, ya'll got to know that I see this stuff! According to Tim LaHaye's temperaments, I am a melancholy/choleric personality. My choleric side is apparently expressed in writing, my melancholy in person. A classic melan/choleric am I.
I've had the privilege of meeting Bro. John and Bro. Rutledge. They were amazingly like their posts. Bro. John being articulate and assertive. Bro. Ren being gracious and kinda southern gentlemanly. My wife would describe him as "courtly." I've recently met and hired Mlflemming. He is my new IT/Webmaster. He is one of those people that you feel like you've known your whole life, though you've just met him. I've discovered he's a very talented and gifted man. A preacher, singer, and a myriad of other abilities including web-site work.
I got to meet Foreverblessed, Wednesday night, at the Noblesville Tent Revival. She brought her beautiful three daughters, her mother, and her sister. She was very pleasant and responsive in our conversation. It's obvious she loves her kids and they are cutie-pies! I think we should have a get together sometime in Conneticut. Bro. John & Bro. Lisa - AKA Foreverbessed, Thanks again for communing with us. Will you vouch for me that I am thoroughly "Pentecostal" , and even have all the proper distinctives? I have no beard (currently) I drank no wine, and I even gossiped a little! Of course with the "IRON FIST" recently claiming two more victims how could I resist? :)

I can vouch for you Stephen, you looked like most every other conservative man around. As you already know, my daughter Jaci had your wife picked out walking down the street, before we ever parked and got to the restaurant... just by her uniform! ;) Well of course attached to the wife with the uniform was two little girls and a husband, so that helped a little too.
Thank you Stephen, I had a wonderful time.
He was good, we didn't gossip too much.. although it has been a little exciting around here lately! ;) Hey at least we didn't do anything sinful like take bets on who gets the axe from Iron Fist and the Terminator, like searching and AK have been doing. Ha ha...JK

To all,
I had the distinct pleasure of meeting some of my bestest buddies ever on the GNC last night! I met Foreverblessed, Searching, and my dear old arch enemy/good friend Thirdgeneration! Those three gals are all here for a little getaway, and Stmatt & family came over from NC to be with us, too! So the Servant family, STmatt family, and those three wonderful sisters all met for dinner, then went to my awesome church ;) , and out for dessert afterwards.
I must say it was a great time of fellowship, and I hope that we all will be able to get together again sometime. Third even admitted that my church and my family was every bit what I always said they were! My pastor even personally greeted her after church and chatted pleasantly with her!
Thank you so much Stmatt & family, Forever, Searching, and of course Third for the wonderful time!
If any of the rest of you have never met another GNC'er in person, please make the effort sometime to do so. It is well worth it! God bless.

I really like the fall season there.I have been three times for fall season.God sure knows how to bless us doesn't he.The colors are wonderful.Louisiana is mostly green all year long except by
coincidence when we actually have sneaux. We are so fond of snow that we have machines make sneaux balls in summer. But honestly some years we never even take out coats. So for those with the long sleeve conviction I hope there is an extra for La Saints as its a sacrifice.I like a place in Cosby that serves hot fried Apple pies.I can't remember the name of it but its on the way to the Walmart when headed out that way.In fact we camped in Cosby one time. But last time we got a condo in Ober.
That was awesome.I liked it up there in the evenings. You sure are blessed to live in such a beautiful place.lv sis.c

Hi ThirdGeneration
Welcome back. The cafe and several of our ministry websites have been down and we are happy to have it all restored after a very busy night and day.
Unfortunatly any posts that were made after about 1:30 Eastern day light time yesterday afternoon will not show up.
It could have been much worse, and for awhile it seemed that we would have to go back several weeks and hundreds of our posts could have been lost.
Thanks to bro John and those who helped last night and today, the down time was kept to a minimum.
Sorry for the inconvienience. The circumstances were beyond our control, and we are glad to be back up and running.

Searching,
You get ready to go through it all again.
StMatt,
I am so glad I got to meet you! I truly enjoyed meeting with you and your wife. Your wife was just precious. I loved her spirit, it was just beautiful. In my prior post that was deleted, I mentioned that we didn't die from the Cherry Koolaid! :) You are sorta quiet, kinda like me, but had such a good personality. I was impressed with your children. Your daughter would fit in around here along with my girls, I could have taken her home with me.;)
And of course, I loved meeting Servant too. He was just as I imagined him. He had a lovely wife and family too. I told him he was gonna have to find me a man down there in his church, I want to move there! :) I loved his church, and really enjoyed the preaching.
OK all about this rafting trip.
We started out after suiting up with helmet and vest. I was really quiet on the bus ride over to where they let you out to start. I was a little nervous at first. It didn't take long for me to realize I loved it! Especially the rough parts. Wow, what fun!
In a class 4 area, we lost searching overboard, and as she went over the side, she grabbed Third, and brought her overboard with her. You know, I really think it was probably intentional! ;)
People were yelling directions to Lady Rev and I on how to pull Third aboard. I was really nervous about the fact, if I moved around too much rescuing, I would end up in the water too. Anyway... There is NO graceful way about getting back in the raft.
Poor searching landed on some rock, and when I looked back once, she was holding on to something for dear life. Third, as kind and loving as she is, was worried about getting Searching, who we left back up the river with other boats, than getting herself in.
Somehow LadyRev and I managed to get Third back into the raft. (I think LR did more than I did) You all remember now, for future reference, you don't want me on rescuing teams ;).
We all rowed back to pick up searching, she was hanging onto another boat, but I think someone had tried to pull her aboard their boat, and about choked her to death. Our guide managed to drag her aboard our raft. She claims I did nothing to help save her, like I am going to reach over and go in with her! :D RIGHT :yeah:
The guide hit me over the head with his paddle, cause searching told him I was asleep... see what a troublemaker she is. ;) I really do believe she intentionally drug Third in with her, she really didn't want to go down by herself... I was a eye witness and all. :D
Anyway, we had a wonderful time, and I enjoyed meeting everyone. That makes 7 friends that I have met from the GNC. Just think, if it were not for this place, I wouldn't know some of the greatest people around! :) Love you all.

Ok FB, I deserved all that! I did fall overboard, no thanks to this little push by the person on my right!! As for grabbing Third and pulling her with me, if I had to choose someone to take with me, it was her! However, when I first grabbed her, it was to save myself, but when I realized I was going over, I let go of her and intended to grab the rope on the side of the raft, but grabbed Third again, apparently. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
FB, you were so tense until that little incident happened....LOL! After that, you were so relaxed and all. As for the guide bopping you on the head, I was shocked that he did that, but it was funny! I do hope his back is in better shape than mine after hauling me in. And you are right about the fact there is NO graceful way to get in a raft after going over, and any modesty I had before getting thrown went with me in the water.
As for holding on to something for dear life, well, it's a good thing I'm a good swimmer and don't panic in water, because there was nothing to grab on to until I got to that other boat! Then I was hanging on, but not to get in. That guide tried getting me in, but was choking me, yes. I had to tell him to just leave me alone!
It was the best rafting trip I have ever been on, in spite of the pain! I have many wonderful memories to last the rest of my life, and I hope to add to them with future trips and reunions.
Me...

Phil, you can stop now. I've already agreed to run your article and play your sermon tape on the September Edition of FaithchildForum.Com.
Actually folks, I've spent an afternoon between services at Phil Jones apartment when he was entertaining me--as the guest of the Sanctuary of Praise UPC in Pineville, LA. The vacationing pastor had left him in charge (I won't comment). We ate at Ryan's Steakhouse, went to his apartment and discussed the Bible, read Bernard Gillespie, and snoozed in the easy chairs. We had a great service that night!
Folks, this guy is a great preacher! He was preaching for the Manguns when he was a teen-ager in Louisiana!

Hi JSP, I'm always happy to meet "new" brothers and sisters. Especially fellow Canadians:)
I'm afraid General conference is out.:( I'm moving in the next couple of weeks, so won't be able to make it. Besides Esther (my daughter) is terrified of SARS. LOL I don't blame her though, she is one of those kids that catches everything. If there are measles or chicken pox (she has had them 6 times!)or something going around, she gets it. Sooo...unless they move General conference a looonnngg way from Toronto, we won't be there. LOL
By the way, do you mind if I ask what part of Canada you are from? There aren't many Canadians on here.

Sis Marie,
I am from lower Canada (Michigan).
Sorry about your daughter being sensitive to illness, we will pray for her.
They say SARS is not a threat now so we are going to General Conference in Toronto.
I have never been to Toronto, they say it is beautiful.

Yes, I've heard it is beautiful. Haven't been any farther east than the Sask/Man border myself. It would be nice to see it. One of these days, I want to travel accross Canada from westcoast to eastcoast (uhhum...:o avoiding the mountains though!)
I hope you are able to make it.
Maybe we should plan a Canadian GNC gathering?

I was very blessed to have met up with Bro. R. Strange “Adoniyah”
We had a wonderful time fellowshipping.

There really was not much of a surprise in meeting Him for the first time…
He is as His post show him to be….
A Good Man, A Man that Loves the Lord.
I was blessed to have that fellowship – We talked of many thing and the Lord was moving amongst us – from the restaurant to his truck
I really enjoyed my self immensely – of the 4 day trip – that afternoon was the best part of it all………

Bro. Strange is a man with a burden for God to save a lost and dying world.
I would have loved to have known him when he did his tent revivals.
The sad part is four walls have knocked out some wonderful times in God as people don't feel threatened in a tent and listen more closely I believe!

Well, well, whadayaknow. I appreciate all of your kind and sweet remarks. Rest assured that the love, admiration for all of you are deeply rooted in my soul.
It was indeed a beautiful move of the spirit of the Lord among just the two of us, bro. Lent and I. The warm rapport was very much evident as we two brethern shared, wept and testified to each other. The Lord in his Word was greatly magnified.
I'll will never forget the visit with Bro. and Sis. Dever. It was also a time of blessed sharing, deep affection among us and the magnifying of the Lord in His blessed Word.
You are right Sister Dever, I indeed have a great burden to see the lost saved, the sick, pain racked bodies healed and the prison doors of the captive broken down.
Without a deliverance ministry, we have no ministry at all. Jesus was a deliverer who taught his disciples for 3 1/2 years to be deliverers also. They were. Read the Acts of the Apostles.
I have had a burden to start a "Apostolic School of Deliverance." It would be similar to a Bible School, but much different with a much different focus. Also, I've had a burden to start a school of Apostles and Prophets. There are those around that are called to be both Apostles and Prophets but have no one to train and to mentor them in their calling. Most often, if they were to mention their calling to their Pastor, he would be at a loss as to how to help them.
I believe that men and women with a calling in their life should be taught far more than just a lot of doctrine, history, eschatology, hermaneutics, on and on so typical of today's bible schools. They should be school of Deliverers that they may impact a sick old world with the Gospel both "hearing and seeing" the signs and wonders as they saw Philip in the book of Acts.
Thanks all. I didn't start to unburden my heart as I started this post, but I did. I have never spoken these things before, but I feel that I can do it among those that I love and care for as much as I do all of you.
With Love,
Bro. Strange

Bro. Mike- That is a double ouch! How did my sweet husband and I get to be known as Mr. and Mrs. when we are talking about the family of God? I know Foverblessed started it! Blame it on the woman! Maybe you can have Mrs. Flemming get on and clarify your intent. :D
Really and truly, we so enjoyed fellowshipping with the members of the Cafe; even though it was bittersweet given the circumstances.
I haven't followed JHLent's postings too often since I haven't spent as much time at the Cafe; but OH MY! Sexism lives on! (And yet I still enjoyed JHLent immensly).
Perhaps, it was because he keeps such good company. It was a treat to meet his sister, MsMaryMac. She has such a sweet spirit about her and God knows she needs it with her brother around to whom rules don't normally apply.... Ha!
Bro. Mike's wife was also a delight to get to know. But I already knew I would like her because of the great job she has been doing as the leader of "Jill's Neighborhood" forum at Faithchildforum.com. Bro. Mike and Sister Jill make a great couple and I pray their church grows and prospers.

LOL!! Hey I will have you to know that I am a person who can't do two things at once. I am not that talented.
My problem was... I was the lead car (being from Indy) and I had JHlent talking 90 miles an hour... and I was TRYING to keep up with the conversation and get us to the right place. I wasn't doing a good job.
I am a fast driver to begin with...so I sorta forgot I had people following me... Third gives me a call on the cell to tell me to slow down, I had left poor ol Webmaster behind somewhere. I had to pull over to see if he was still following. He was.. he's cool, he's from IN!! :redcool:
Then.. I get off the interstate and realize I had taken them to the hotel instead of Cracker Barrel... DUH... Lisa!!!.. so I get back on I70 and we lead us to where we are supposed to be. See, I bet everyone behind me didn't even know I had lead them wrong in the first place. I only had to admit my mistake to Jlent and MsmerryMac. :D
IT IS ALL JHLENTS fault, he talks and talks and talks, and if he isn't talking to you, he is talking to someone on a cell phone lol!! :D

And jhlent has enough NERVE to tell me that he is fearing for his life.. like I am a dangerous driver or something!!?????

I sure did a LOT od PRAYING for our LIVES....
I was on the phone calling others to PRAY for Us in the Car...

Third my dear good friend... I meant nothing by calling your wonderful husband MR. Thirdgeneration. I know..I just never call anyone Bro. and Sis. or very rarely unless they are OLD..so really that is a compliment!! Be glad I didn't refer to you as Bro. and Sis!!!!! ;)

I did some of the driving though, remember? Besides, on my way home from your house, the second car broke down.....LOL.
The Honda that broke down coming home from Youth Congress is long gone after not only the alternator going out, but then the rack and pinion went out too. With over 225K miles on it, wasn't worth the money to fix it. Then the Buick goes out and we still don't know what's wrong with it. It's sitting in the driveway. We got a Lumina and a Dakota truck to replace both vehicles, but hubby reminds me that it wasn't HIM who drove those cars last!!
And to think I almost wiped out that nice Caddy (I think it was) with your van when we were coming into Pigeon Forge!! I'm not accustomed to looking in the other lane for traffic after midnight!!! I live in a small town, even the traffic lights quit working after 11PM here!
Lisa, I do miss seeing you kiddo. Even though I didn't know Bro. Yohe, I so badly wanted to come and support his family. I keep them in my prayers.
Me...
