View Full Version : Question to Moderators regarding rules

After reading some of what has been written lately on the forum, I have a question regarding the rules of this board I believe to be legitimate. I tried to find something specific on this issue, but couldn't, at least up to now, anyway.
My question is, do you require for those to post here, they believe without question a person must fulfil Acts 2:38, and that all those that do not are lost? Or is it that we just are not allowed to discuss any subject regarding this? And as long as we do not deviate from discussing these issues we are welcome to post on the cafe? I thought this was what you required, but now am not really sure anymore. And am asking because I am honestly confused as to what your requirements are regarding this issue exactly, in light of some of the comments that have been made to myself as well as others recently. And feel I need to know specifically what you really do require to post here.
If you have written these somewhere exactly too, then point me to where they are written would be fine too, just chalking it up to that woman needs a lot of help. As I have honestly looked and looked, but so far cannot find my answer. Yes, I know what we are not to discuss. I just don't know what we are required to believe exactly to post.
I started to write personally, but then realized, that maybe there are others that would like or even are in need of knowing as well.
Which is why I did not write only, at the same time hoping I am not out of line for asking here as well. As my intention is nothing but a desire to know exactly what they are, nothing more, nothing less.

Sister Sandy,
Just follow the golden rule and you should be fine.I have never seen where your posts are out of line.In fact you have a very sweet spirit and always use lots of scriptural support.Mean people will always be mean people where ever they go.Its a flesh issue. Here is an example:
I knew of a man in a church between the north and south. He was so hard to get along with. His face just reaked of meanness. He insulted everyone all the time.He spoke against the pastor and everything the church did to further the work of God.He even took one of the sisters to the pastor over how she shouted and worshipped God in service. He said she did it to deliberately bother the people who sat near her. What a shame. He even accused one of the sisters of shouting too near someone and trying to run them off.Just a mean unhappy soul he was.
One of the times I was praying an hour or more a day I was finally able to overcome my feelings for this man.It took me putting my flesh under subjection and learning to love him regardless of my personal feelings. The same here on the board.
People email and insult me all the time.I just love them and go on.
We cannot see each others faces and some just are not good at expressing themselves over the net without being rough around the edges. When Bro.Apostle/James first began to post he and I tied it on daily until I got used to his voice in his writings and how he expresses himself. Then I understood more where he was coming from and its been a long time since we've had ill words.
God can do it and we can pull on the word enough that truths will fall out and simply amaze us.lv sis.c

I don't have a rule about people believe it. I have a rule against people expressing that belief here. I have to-date banned 3 people from the forum for expressing that viewpoint.
I don't do it to be nasty, I do it because the ownership and administration of the GNC believes that the only way is full obedience to Acts 2:38 in its entirety. And yes, we believe that people who don't are lost. That is blunt, but it is the proverbial "How the Cow eats the cabbage" for the GNC.
Full obedience to Acts 2:38 is the core that the GNC wraps around. That is our basis for fellowship.
We have been accused of legalism and censorship because we do not allow anyone to post anything contrary to full obedeince to Acts 2:38. We are good to go with that. My only note, and I hope the clue finally gets got, is if you don't believe that, that is your business with God.
DO NOT POST IT HERE! There are other boards out there for you to post what we here percieve as serious, send souls to hell false doctrine. It isn't welcome in the cafe, and if anyone insists on posting that viewpoint, neither are they.
So the rule is, Believe whatever you want. I even allow trinitarians to be members provided they can join discussion and keep thier salvation and godhead views to themselves.
Our stand here is that if Acts 2:38 is mentioned in a thread, the only accceptable response in this community is "AMEN, we gotta do that!"
If you feel otherwise, leave that thread alone and enjoy the other topics! :D

Bro. John- Amen! I think you are fair and generous in what you allow to be posted.
It is awesome to have a board that is populated by Jesus name; Spirit filled believers and yet allows for diversity of expression in other areas.
Thank you.

The deal is, Trinitarians generally don't stick around as they don't want to talk about what we talk about.
And since they can't talk about what they want to talk about they usually leave.

Copy-paste from the rules regarding Salvation and posting on it:
Fundamental Doctrine: There are four basic issues of doctrine of which there can be no argument or debate. They are what makes this an Apostolic Pentecostal Discussion Board. They are the Apostolic Doctrine of Salvation and One God:
1] To be saved you must repent of your sins. Acts 2:38, Acts 3:19, Acts 26:18, Acts 26:20
2] You must be baptized in water by submersion in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. John 3:3, John 3:5, Acts 2:38, Colossians 3:17
3] You must be filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Acts 2:4, Acts 10:46, Acts 19:6
4] There is but One God and not a trinity or any other number of "persons", and His name is Jesus. 1 Timothy 3:16, Mark 12:29, Matthew 1:23, John 1:1-14
On other matters of doctrine, feel free to post your views supported with scripture. It is okay to disagree, just let the conversation flow, letting go of the need to prove yourself right. Remember, the truth needs no defense, so let go of your fleshy pride and ego. Use your anonymity to humble yourself and learn. There is no injury in this, only benefit. We can all learn from each other. If the issue is an important one and all involved are truly seeking truth, then prayerful discussion and study of God's word will reveal it.

I have been posting here about a year now and love it.
When I first came on it was owned by another brother and
he mediated it very well..Bro.Stan Hallett. In fact I think it has improved as Bro.Atkinson is much more active on the threads.I also think the best of his pastor Bro.Rutledge.They are a group of people doing the max they can to promote the gospel.
So I want to take the time to say to you all....Great Job....I love the Good News Cafe....lv sis.c

Thanks for answering me all of you. I now understand the rules. I thought that was it, but then was not entirely sure.
Sister Cooper, thank you too, for your kind post to me. I agree with every word you shared of course. We must walk in forgiveness, at least according to the way I understand the Word concerning this.
So now I feel I can continue here, because in doing so, I am not breaking the rules, which is really the only reason I inquired to begin with.
I have been here for several years now, coming here originally when Bro. Stan was moderator of course, so I was not wanting to leave at all, but have to be honest before God first too, if you understand what I mean.
Anyway, I now know what I needed to. And thanks for replying too, all of you.
One other thing Bro John. When I tried to go into the web page where you have the rules posted, a note came up saying I wasn't authorized to get in there. Are we not allowed in to read them, or is there something I need to do in order to get in there?

You should be able to read there, just not post there

Brother John:
I also want to express my appreciation for the Cafe. I have enjoyed the many good thoughts of others also.
Coming from an old line of Apostolics dating back almost to the beginning of the last century, the John 3:5/Acts 2:38 doctrine of salvation is so much in me as to be eternally inseparable. I appreciate everyone that holds this precious faith in their hearts and will uphold it before the world.
Several days ago, I went to a singing at a trinity Pentecost/Baptist gathering. I popped in, not knowing but two or three there. I enjoyed the singing but it was nothing to compare with good old time Apostolic singing.
Afterwards, someone asked me if I was oneness? There must be something about a ONE God Saint that is felt or somehow recognized by others.
I answered him, "Yes I am. I am from the top of my head to the soles of my feet, even to the marrow of my bones."
I see the Cafe as a an e-fellowship circle by which relationships are developed though we may never see everyone face to face on this side of the great divide.
I also want to thank you for uploading the picture for me as I was too dumb to figure out how to do it myself.

Thank You all for the kind words,
I will admit, when Bro Hallett initially offered the GNC to me I wanted nothing to do with it. I had no interest whatsoever in moderating this.
Since then God has placed a vision for this thing in my heart. Someday, I'll even share it. Look forward to new members. I know I am strict, perhaps even overbearing, when it comes to Acts 2 salvation, and how it is approached here. But that is because I am striving for something unique. We are in the very beginning of this.
Standby, the best is yet to come :)

Sis,
I always knew that you were a very discerning person. I think that perhaps you remember me from some other encouters in different places. Possible?
Anyway, I recognized you when I saw your picture on the web-site.
....and I want to say that I appreciate the many wonderful truths that you share with the rest of us. I glean many good things from the many good things that you write.
I also appreciate your stand for the work of God in Kaplan. The reward of the Lord will be worth all the sacrifice, labor and heartache that you will bear.

Bro. John:
I don't know if you ever got my pm or not. Have you? If so, I still don't know how to contact "admin" and not just the administrators individually.
Excuse my cluelessness...
