Caregivers deal with all sorts of health issues and one such is a decube or also known as a decubitus ulcer. This is the result of a patient resting on a bony area of the body and not being turned frequently or pressure to an area of the body such as the lower spine, hips, heels, etc. What occurs is the site becomes red and tender. It soon begins to break down and the skin opens up and a small hole is formed. It can progress to more severe stages thus causing infection in the wound and drainage. Untreated it can enlarge to great size. These wounds heal from the inside out only. Many require wound packing with anitbiotic or special treatments daily and cleansing the area and mositure.
I liken this to the wounds that attack our soul. We may get hurt or wounded by the pressure of others, or painful experiences. We may fall down and get scrapped in our walk with God. Unattended these wounds become enlarged and become infected with other bacteria and infection that destroys the tissue. It begins to cause the skin to die. Often the wound has to be scraped of its infection to start healing. So we may go through times that we feel cuts away the old man and brings renewed life to our body.
In the spiritual sense, uncared for, it causes us to die and loose our perspective in God. Un-nursed or cared for, we become sicker and could die.
Letting the painful experiences go unattended will destroy you. With the decube, fast intervention is necessary and it often takes long periods of recovery and often there is a scar to remind you of the wound when it heals.
So it is in life and in our walk with God, we may become wounded and scarred, but intervention in the Holy Ghost will help heal the wound. Leaning on a spiritual saint of God during tough times and asking God for help will bring the balm of Gilead to your soul.
Healing starts in the heart from the inside out just like a natural physcial wound heals from the inside out. The natural body sends its defenses to rush in and start a process with cells that fight for us. So prayer goes to work for our soul and God intervenes for us with prayer warriors in the night that don't even know us and do battle for us.
If you are going through difficult spiritual times, remember that God sees deep into the heart, deep into the wound and He feels our pain and sufferring.
He only a as close as the mention of His name. There is nothing God cannot do. There is nothing worth losing out over. Tend to the wounds and stay ready for His coming. Don't be deceived in these last days.
Do you have a wound that needs healing so you can go to the next level in God? Psalms 147:3 says, "He health the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds."

Brother Lent,
Being a home health nurse that title the decubitus ulcer really grosses me out.I suppose because I know exactly how they look.So I wanted to share a few things.
For one thing a decubitus ulcer is formed when not enough circulation gets to an area that has a large amount of pressure on it.The protein factor in the patient is low and thus contributes to the rapid breakdown of the area.
If a person who is completely bedbound is not nourished and moved every hour or so into a new position they will form decubitus ulcers. These are very hard to get rid of once you have one.It can take months or treatments or even surgery to rid oneself of this condition.

I want to say that this can happen to the christian who does not want to change positions even though they know that they are starving spiritually and need to be removed from that spot and ministered to.They can become sick and soon the ulcered area begins to break down and have a foul odor(complaining, backbiting, slander, gossip, bitter speaking). The area then causes a mass infection of the body and need surgery and alot of oxygen to the area(word, prayer,Holy Ghost). There is no other way to restore this tissue but you can encourage new one to grow to replace the old dead one when its scraped away. How that reminds me of repentance. When old things are passed away and all becomes new....lv sis.c

I agree Bro. I have been hurt to the point I didnt think I could make it. I had to do everything I can to try not to get anymore infected. Its like a cancer that would spread. Not only did it affect my life but also, my husband and children.
And i know this the more we pamper it the longer it will not heal. You have to always make sure that no other dirt will get into it. you dont pamper it you attact it with the word of God and much prayer and fasting. I am so glad that the Lord has taken all that hurt away and replaced it with a Love for the people that hurt me. No other besides God could have done that.
Thank you Jesus

I agree- but some of the wounds we deal with in life are that ugly and uncomfortable and not pleasant if it were not for the healing power of God. Some of the memories can be just as vivid as the title of this topic. Sin of any kind will infect us. We must keep our faith and trust in God. Man may fail us but God will never fail us.

Have you ever seen or done something to a decubitus ulcer? I have and its gross.Sin that is undealt with may be spiritually disgusting but believe me it does not even match up with the stench of a decubitus ulcer. This is an area of dead flesh still attached to the person that gets gangrenous and emits a foul sickly odor.Other things about this kind of would need not be mentioned.
When dealing with sin thank the Lord his blood covers it when repented of.The christian never has to deal with the dirty work.Jesus did that part for us.When we think we have to then we are in an area where we don't belong.
That stuff is Gods business not ours.I agree that sometimes things don't seem or look to great but I can tell you that ulcer is sickening. This is coming from a nurse who has dealt with it alot.So if I say yuck I mean yuck.

Rob?????where are you.Describe one of these ulcers for us.....lv sis.c

I am medical career too and the thing about the healing of ulcers that I wanted to get across was THEY HEAL FROM THE INSIDE OUT. Just like the outward display is telling us that something is not right in the heart. When the heart is given totally over to Jesus, He heals from the inside out. Everything comes together as it should. You don't clean up the outside first. You work on the heart. You will see a difference. You will hear a difference-"From the abundunce of the heart, the mouth speaketh." When it yeilds itself to God, it will speak in that Heavenly tongue. It will look, walk and talk the part of Jesus.
