View Full Version : I Can Take A Hint!

This is a public notice that from henceforth I will refrain from comic relief, snappy comebacks, inane activity and otherwise silly actions and will only add an Xerfism at rare and opportune times. In the meantime, taking ThirdGen's advice, I will starch my collar to extreme and return as..............well, a poster of serious and sober desposition devoid of humor with the policy that a smile is weakness. Be prepared to be posted with dullality and seriousness akin to a some of the more notables around these parts who we will not mention.

Of course the only place some of you place, "LOL" is when you are thinking you are proving a point. And others never use any form of clue as to your posts and leaves it to the reader to wonder if they were just insulted, slapped, or ignored, those folk need a class in being a human 101.

Sometimes an overdose, such as myself, is helpful because it helps balance out some that are so caught up in thier own self importance and forget to let the other guy smile once in awhile. God knows the essence of human nature is to be self oriented and form a little galaxy with the "I" being the center of the known universe. But just remember, in all of your expostilations that the reader is a real human and someone worthy of a little smileward courtesy. I think love, in its essence, is more concerned with the object of love than with self-gradification, the desire to please others more than wanting to be pleased.

So for a short while you have experienced an overdose, but may there linger a remembrance that life is certaintly too important and really too short not to stop and smell the roses as you walk the path to eternity! In other words, make someone else feel like a human worthy of your attention and refuse to become a captive in the cell of your own making by closing yourself up with no other company but you.

Adieu............my friends...........love ya'll!!

Xerf (soon to be..............well another...............) :)

Love is not a treasure hidden away in a dark cave,

To be found by patient searching,

Or stumbled upon by accident.

Love floats in the air

Like the molecules of oxygen

Hungrily consumed by our bodies,

To be inhaled into our hearts

And manifest in the eyes and ears

Of those we see around us.

See not the body, this outer shell,

But know the one within.

For there is your friend.

The one you seek.

Found in every one you meet,

No matter who they are,

Or what they know,

Or how they understand it.

Love is within your grasp.

Reach out and take it.

For as you give it, it is returned.

Say the magic words

I love you

And it will appear.

Enjoy the gift and treasure it.

NO wonder the discourse is given that says about charity -- love:

1Co 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
1Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
1Co 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
1Co 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
1Co 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
1Co 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
1Co 13:7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
1Co 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

NEVER FAILS..............

Excuse me, did I miss the pole or survey that asked if Xerf should be more SERIOUS?

Xerf, rather than telling you that you need to stay comical or become more serious, I would say, BE YOURSELF!

There is a time and place for being serious, and there is a time and place for humor. I do not see where you've blurred the lines of demarkation. I've seen you serious when it was needed and humorous when it was needed.

Wait a minute! I don't want to get blamed for telling Xerf to be more serious!

I only suggested (after reading his earlier work) that there were wonderful posts yet unwritten; and perhaps he could assume another alias to write them...

I do not want to go down in history as the poster who quashed Xerf!!!

Btw- Did you catch this profound truth about life in the Xerf lane?

"....but may there linger a remembrance that life is certaintly too important and really too short not to stop and smell the roses as you walk the path to eternity! In other words, make someone else feel like a human worthy of your attention and refuse to become a captive in the cell of your own making by closing yourself up with no other company but you."

But in this case, my friend, I truly mean what I say, I will no longer xerf myself except on rare occassions. Because some are correct, I have over xerfed myself. And I will just simply curb the maddness to a few and well time-spaced intervals. (However some really push my button)! hahaha

Till.............much later............. :)

BTW--this is NOT a smokescreen to get a "please don't stop" response. I DO see the need to back off........and that's the truth!

But perhaps....... a few of you that apparently feed on drinking spray starch could find a little "smile" buried somewhere in the midst of all your clutter of seriousness and unearth it once in a while...........search............and ye shall find.........just don't knock it.........hahaha!!

sign off~~ for now :)

Oh XERF:now you've ruined my ending chapter or scene to XERF:THE MOVIE!!
JUST because some whiny ones, gotta go and complain, since THEY are not receiving all the attention they once had (supposedly)!! GOSH!
This world is a better place because of you XERF, if there were more like you, there would be no need for wars! Handle all problems via computer, not on real ground!! What a thought!

You really should stay yourself' you are loved for it, and its okay if you GOTTA tone down a bit, just don't feel you have to in posts to me, in fact, you may email me direct if you like, with an occasional dose of badly needed Xerfism! or for any reason. You should really get your own site, and NOT as running for President, thats just not your destiny!! [AS IF!] Heheh!

I once remarked that you have provided us some remarkably insightful spiritual thoughts that are so inspiring, like this one just above.
After all, you are a real 'saint' first, and foremost. You can laugh at yourself. You don't make use sarcasm to belittle others, like [I]some do, you made some true assertions!... and what a shame to find this in an acts2:38 forum, unbelievable!
Luvya XERF, however you choose to remain, as long as you do, and uh-hummm: did you get a chance to look at my list of what I want, yet?...
Take all the time you need, as long as I get at least one of those things, OHumbleOne!
GOTTA GO!

I love your humor, Xerf.
Don't let the stiffness of others cause you to NOT be who you are.

Well Xerf, I have laughed plenty at what you have written, and also said, gosh, I would I could do that myself to be honest. Because it takes a lot of smarts to think up the things you have written. And I am just that smert.

So while I have not said much to you about this, I want to go down as one having enjoyed immensely the laughter you have brought to this old broad anyway, who loves to do so in the first place.

So I for one will miss your diversity and humour. But I would also miss FC too.

The thing we must realize, is we are all different, having diversities of gifts, because that is the way God made us, even though once in a while we do wish we could be like the other guy too.

nytxn1971,
About time you got back. Now you can help me in the campaign. It is time for real leadership in America, and a chance for America to be a super-power again. That's why, I started the...
XERF FOR PRESIDENT campaign. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes , seems the kid has a case of self pity to be sure ! I dont know , he called me hitler a few days ago and i thought it was quite funny really. He who cannot take a joke needs to start jokin....a bit.

Xerf
04-18-2003, 07:53 PM
Self pity huh?? Well let me whine, err, tell you a thing or two: Self pity can take the form of whining, complaining, melodrama, repeated story telling, “Have I told you about my past lately?” Well I could tell you about the time..................

Self pity also calls for perpetual advice seeking and/or some form of emotional withdrawal from others. Can you help me figure out how to get away from you all?

Sometimes just sighing, deeply and loudly is a sure sign of self-pity’s presence. (siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh)!

And you say I've got a bad case of self-pity!! I will be expecting your humble apology (in triplicate) soon!!

And Adolf, I was not calling you Hitler, It just so happened that your post got next to mine is all.................. :)

I'll be back...............!!

XERF:
Not that you asked me, I don't know all that much about it myself, therefore do not have that capacity as yet, BUT, if you want a pal to talk with via MSN Instant Messaging, you may IM me anytime, my handle is listed on my profile, and if you don't want to, I won't be the least bit offended, just offering, I'd hate to see you glum, ever. SMILE, oops, YOU ARE doing just that!
Perpetually, ;)
