Bro John,
Might I ask what a tech administrator is?
I thought moderators would be the ones to lock a thread?
Might you share what it is that you are exactly on the board so that the new posters will better understand?
Thanks
Bro. Timothy

Bro Tim I run the board. I can close threads, I can delete threads, I can delete the whole board if I want. I can ban users, and may do so with one soon.
If you want to know the rules. There they are: http://www.goodnewscafe.net/forum/showthread.php?threadid=51
And whatever ones I make up along the way. I generally don't interfere with threads and posters, as the fruit of the last year shows. Occasionally the posting manner of someone rubs me totally the wrong way and I step in. Yours did.
When I do, I have good reason. I don't owe you or anyone else an explanation of that reason.

Bro. John,
I am sorry that my question offended you. When you spoke about not being a moderator so that you did not have to take a middle of the road stance and then decided to lock a thread it seemed you acted as a moderator of a thread.
I see that then this is soley your board and your decisions are final. I urge you to look at all posters. You are angry or upset with my questions but still others have broken straightforward rules such as name calling and they are still on the board. You have not on the post responded to them publicly, of note either.
What I have said in my post is no different that what others have said on post where you seem to agree with that poster. A strong stance supported by the Word of God. The holiday issue seems to be a hard issue for many. Every thing posted in on this issue was supported by the Word of God. Not a single thing was not supported by the Word of God. God said it, not I.
Maybe we should only discuss the beginning things from the Word of God. Maybe we should not go forward from Acts 2:38, for many believe that that alone will save a soul with nothing else.
Mabye you will decide to ban me. If so that is your choice. I will post from the Word of God as written. My banning then will only be because I didn't stray away from the Word of God in what I share.
I will pray for you brother and hope you will pray for me,
Bro. Timothy

I do stress that it is not required to agree with my stand on anything.
What caused me to step in and close that thread was the fact that you and another were basically insinuating that your brethren and sethren here are idolators because what they allow didn't line up with your convictions.
I will typically step in when that happens. We are brothers and sisters here discussing topics, some of which we are passionate about, passion is ok, condemning people who don't see it your way are not.

Brother, I was not angry or upset by your posts. I was disturbed by your posting manner. It is difficult sometimes to convey what we mean in these posts, and they are very easily misinterpreted. What you percieve as a stand on the word of God, others, me included percieved as phariseeistic noise.
I gave scripture as well, you chose to ignore my scripture because you are utterly convinced of your own rightness.
I didn't shut down that thread to bring it over here. I am not going to ban you, but I ask that you tone the manner of your posts down to be less jugemental of your brethren.
As I said, there is likely much we can agree on and say amen to together. I do love you and do pray for you.
We do move on from Acts 2:38. Argueing over a holiday isn't moving on.
The GNC is a discussion board. We are here to discuss, not preach.
If I erred in the manner I handle it and you, please accept my sincerest apology and forgive me.

I have known Bro John for years and he is biblically balanced...
I have conversed with some on here about the importance of submitting to guidelines. GNC has guidelines and Bro John has spoken plain about NOT getting too stong.
If you have a church then go there and preach at the flock, here we teach each other with a attitude of humbleness, not you better listen to this!
Bro John is one of my Elders here, If he says you are too strong then Please tone it down and show forth the humble attitude that I thought I saw in other posts....other wise; God calls those saying one thing and doing another hypocritical and Liars....
I hope to see all you continue, with Jesus in mind here, as I gleam from almost eveyone here, we have a exciting opportunity here, shall we ruin it for ourself because of pride? I hope not. :)

Bro Tim,
I just spoke with Bro Dane and he told me that he had asked you privately to tone it down several days ago. Please do so. We want you here and participating.
But please remember that truth is a broad topic and no one of us has exclusive rights to it. There are people here who can learn from you, but there are also people here who you can learn from yourself.
I did take the time to browse your web site, there are many good things there and you have a lovely family,
God Bless you and yours...

Well,
I for one appreciate the fine job that you all do here at the GNC. I appreciate your giving me the opportunity to be among some of the best people around. Thanks for putting up with us all! :)

Bro. John,
Bro. Dane had asked me not to use peoples names if I where to post strong. I went back and glanced at the PM. It is hard to respond strongly to what another poster has stated without speaking directly with them.
I will do my best to not name the posters name if I am responding back to something they have said. If I happen to mistakenly use a posters name, please PM me and I will go back an modify the post on the thread.
Thanks
Bro. Timothy

Bro. Tim, I get in Admin's crosshairs every once in awhile myself. What I try to do is name the person who posted, then comment on what they said, separate and apart from their person. IF they take a personal shot at me, then the gloves come off and I start shooting back. I have conflicts with know-it-alls, i.e. people that consider anyone elses opinion evil but their own, absolutely 100% the Word of God (when it isn't). After awhile I might tender an olive branch. If it continues to heat up, I generally e-mail Admin that I'm leaving the board for a few weeks so things can cool down.
Take it or leave it, that works for me.
