To all,
I don't know how many of you have been following the Laci Peterson story. The woman who was 8 months pregnant who disappeared just before last Christmas whose remains were recently found in San Francisco Bay along with the remains of her unborn son, Connor.
Scott Peterson, her husband, is going to be charged with a double murder, and the death penalty is going to be recommended. My question is, how can he be charged with murdering his son if his son was unborn, yet abortion is not considered murder? Isn't abortion the premeditated termination of a life? I would say that if he is charged and convicted, it would set a new precedent in the anti-abortion movement, wouldn't it? Thoughts??? Comments???

Right!
The California Law about it is screwy too. It says something like: If a woman is killed with Child, and she wanted the child, it's murder, but if she wanted an abortion it's not murder.
I guess out in Cali, the Mother decides if it is a human, and when and if it becomes a human.
More Liberal inconsistencies.

April 21 — Scott Peterson is being held in a maximum security jail prior to his arraignment on charges he murdered his wife and unborn son. NBC’s James Hattori reports.
THE CRIMINAL COMPLAINT filed by Stanislaus County District Attorney James Brazelton, alleges that the slayings occurred at the Petersons’ Modesto home between Dec. 23 and 24.
“During the commission of murder of Laci Denise Peterson, the defendant, with the knowledge that Laci Peterson was pregnant, did inflict injury on (her) resulting in the termination of her pregnancy,” the complaint said in justifying the second murder charge.

Same logic applies to:
Dr. ______ was in the midst of performing a partial birth abortion when he was unable to stop the baby from coming out of the womb altogether. Leaving the cord still attached to the mother and baby, he still administered the procedure to the baby while holding it in his arms. According to the story I heard, he was charged and convicted of 1st degree, premeditated murder.
How can it be that only less than 6" is what defines a legal procedure vs. murder?

This isn't the first time that someone was charged for murdering an unborn child. In NY, a man was charged and convicted of stabbing a woman in the abdomen, killing her unborn child. He was convicted of murder. She was six months pregnant.
In Illinois, a drunk driver killed a three months pregnant woman. He was charged and convicted of double vehicular homicide.
It is strange that the pro-abortionist people don't rise up in defense of these folks who are charged with the murders of unborn children, but if the mother wants to terminate, it's ok. It's also these same people that are all for saving the whales and such.

Servant,
In my state I am told that if you kill a pregnant deer out of season you can be charged and fined with the killing of two deer!
What a sick society we live in.
We have evil people (the Osama and Sadaam types) with scalpels and sciccors laying in wait to kill the innocent for profit.
May God have mercy on the USA.

The answer is simple enough:
The world likes to call evil good, and good evil
THAT is the way of the world :grumble:

America has so much the blood of it's own people on it's hand, it amazes me that we have the nerve to say we are blessed by God, yet continue to kill in this fashion. 4,400 babies a day die at our abortion mills, and we call ourselves righteous. Men are raping little girls, getting them pregnant, and then all some parents desire to know is whether or not the abortion should be payed by them or the rapist.
Blood flows free in America's streets. Children all across this globe are dying or starvation and diesease, yet we are murdering our own children at such a rate. It is indeed genocide of a sorts.
California politicians and all those who supported these people will stand before our God one day in Judgment, with so much blood on their hands, they would not be able to see their own skin anymore.
America needs a repentance time again. We need to fall on ourfaces before God, and turn ourselves back to being a godly nation. We need to prosecute abortionists and those who work in the clinics for murder, and close down evey abortion mill in the USA. We need to be a nation that supports the unborn, their parents, and help them in bringing the life into this world.

Thelordisone:
Brother, that is a very sobering and profound statement.
I have seen many men spiritually murdered at the hands of spiritual tyrants who are inwardly as evil as Saddam Hussein, yet they maintain all the outward trappings of Godliness.
Maybe they should add to the UPC biennial Affirmation statement that EVIL THOUGHTS (Mark 7:20) would not be allowed for which the preacher would be dropped.

Just a note,
Not only do we se that in the UPC but in most all of the "Apostolic" churches today. It is not confined to any one group but is rampent in our midst today.
Let's not be against the UPC and not see it in many other churches also.

Brother,
This happens far too often in the true churches. We force people into living holy before salvation, and we instead run them off. We try to impose our own agenda on them, and they cannot see Christ. We go so far as to fight against them and call them names like heathen and reprobate, not showing any kind of love, and then we watch them stream out of the Church straight to a devil's waiting arms.
So, what is the cure? A pro-Christ movement. A time for us, as a church, to fall on our faces, and turn our lives back over tot he one who gave His life. We return back to having a Christ-like Spirit, and renounce all bitterness and hatred, as well as every work of the flesh, and return to extreme humility before God and man.
