So, is this the infamous Bagdad Bob guy???

(In my best Middle East accent), "No, there is no Allied attack on Bagdad. We just burning our trash. That is reason for smoke. Not Allied bombs. If there were Allied forces, they kill themselves in the streets of Bagdad for fear of the great armed forces of Alla. The bombing of Bagdad is just Hollywood movie. Heathen infidel propoganda. It not real. It just Hollywood movie. We burn trash. Of a truth I tell you, we just burning trash."

John Atkinson

yup Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf (MSS) himself

It serves it's purpose here. We are a small facility. win2k isn't all that bad when you have good infrastructure and equipment.

TO ALL:
I'm having problems finding this humorous!
All war-related issues leave me numb-this guy is a human being, JUST as we all are, and may have committed suicide, and NOONE cares!! That he went on to an eternity of hell?!!! [ or IS going to?]
Surely he had or left some family behind.
Has no one considered he also was a pawn in Saddam's sadistic campaign against anything good? This man was used!! I am truly saddened, if anything, I have long been against making fun of anyon'es situation, and this causes me grief for their soul(s), as well.
I'm sure I will also be maligned for this statement., made fun of etc., and it certainly would not be the first time, nor last, but well, its how I really feel.

Sure, the man knowingly lied-cast the first stone!
(oops, too late).
I am no fan of evil., to be sure, but as to a human soul, its still a loss for the KINGDOM of GOD.
God HELP us all! Can two wrongs ever make a right?
I can be somewhat humorous, yes, but somethings are off limit to me.

Now, now Tufluv, I think you are mistaking "situational" humor with personal assualt. The humor represented in this thread is by no means a "I don't care if your lost" type of thing but merely a graphic portrayal of an event that was so obiviously a lie that it was ludicrous! And these "events" are the stuff that make humor out of such inane happenings. To classify people as not caring that participate in this kind of humor is being a bit hyper critical. One fails to see how this satire of evil can be equated to not caring for anyone's eternal salvation. I least I can't. But I have missed the boat before--and was left a wash, so this may be the second time..........haha!

John Atkinson

What Xerf said.....

Did you know that MSS isn't even on the card deck? His own government didn't even take him seriously. They left him holding the bag while they split. I believe that I have said before, I hope the best for the guy. His antics represent the only funny thing that came out of this whole episode.

Bro.Steingass
04-23-2003, 12:40 PM
Tufluv, I don't know about MSS himself, but the tv news mentioned one sunday that his wife was Christian and attended services of some kind. MSS was only doing what he was ordered to do. The humor is that while Iraq's Propaganda machine was humming with the intent to decieve the Iraqi people, MSS statements actually became a hit with coalition forces, it improved the morale of the troops, as well as us.

MSS is not on the top 52 most wanted, he did nothing wrong other than go on tv and lie. If that's punishable by death or prison....then deliver up William Jefferson Clinton right away.

I am a guy who loves comedy, without it, we Apostolics become too serious, and all stiff-collared. Why sometimes do we think we can't be Christians and have fun too?

MSS isn't evil, he was just doing his job, public stooge for an evil regime. If he would have refused, his family would have surely been killed, or raped, or whatever wlse they could do to get at him.

MSS, aka, "Bagdad Bob" was so funny and hysterical. Maybe he was following orders; who knows, maybe it was Saddam Husein himself shaven to try and deceive everybody:

(In my Mid East accent), "Dis is Saddam Hussein; I shave off my mustache, I pose as Bagdad Bob. You so stupid, you don't find me. I tell everybody there is no Allied force attack on Iraq. It all Hollywood movie; it propoganda by little Bush. We just burning our trash. It all lies. No Allies are here." (American tank drives by in background  )

Well said Bro. Steingass .. being saved does not mean we can't be humorous and have fun at the same time.

Bro.Steingass
04-23-2003, 03:07 PM
Tufluv,

I'm sorry, I didn't mean that you thought we shouldn't have fun. It was a general statement. I was thinking of ......ahem....other...people.

04-23-2003, 11:36 PM
Undoubtedly, Brother Steingass!!

Its 'funny' that although I can be known to like humor, by numerous recent posts, BUT...
I just don't see actually 'making fun of someone' as humorous.
I can't laugh at someone else's expense., maybe I'm just too sensitive or something.

Its one thing to banter amongst ourselves, fellow brethren, but another soul who is not as blessed as we are to be in the TRUTH, I don't see as 'fair game'...
I don't think any one of us would want to be in that man's shoes.

But, its just my opinion - PARTY ON, brethren! :D

Just aired:

"There was no critical remarks on this thread, none! The critical remarks were only a typing error that got placed on this thread. No one has offered any negative comments, it was all a lie! We have witnessed no remarks of censure......we presently have all such remarks beheaded and the rest fleeing this thread and NEVER shall a negative remark raise its head in this glorious thread!!"

Cute site!! Now THESE I'm okay with, as it allows one to make fun of one's self! Hilarious! and true for the most part, my sister (rest her soul) would've loved these! We used to have so much fun together laughing at ourselves, and even others to a certain extent, being in the same boat! (in a nice way), although back when she was alive, I was not even remotely christian.
Ahh, memories!! [although I'm glad I'm where I'm at NOW!:D]

Bro John,
I liked those demotivational posters. I wonder if you could actually buy the posters anywhere. The managers at my job have the "motivational" versions hanging in their offices, so they were especially funny to me!
