We are getting some wonderful response from friends listening to the preaching tapes. Many are reporting that they are being blessed by the awesome messages presented on the growing preaching site. (http://www.acts238.org/wordoflife/) We find the wisdom of God in the foolishness of preaching while others are being bothered by what they feel to be foolish preaching.
I suppose that there will aways be that crowd that considers good preaching to be foolish. Praise God for the few that hear the word of the Lord in the foolishness of preaching and find salvation as they believe.
1 Corinthians 1:17-31
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; 24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

I am so glad that Elder Bro.E.W.Reeves followed God and by the worlds standards acted foolishly and preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that one day a young person named Dana Cooper would be invited to church and hear the words of Life that not only saved me spiritually but saved me physically.I know of a fact I would be dead today if I had not heard those beautiful words of Salvation.I have to say I full believe the scripture that says:
Rom 10:15
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Yeah, I can testify to that...
If you see my thread in the prayer room, looks like I was sort of inciting a riot outside of my apt.!
Not I, but Christ in me!
It is sad; that people feel comfortable cursing and swearing at, threatening a woman of God. An anointed vessel of God.
Not that I flex the 'touch not mine anointed' hallmark. It is true; but these people are messing in dangerous territory. They are threatening God's anointed. God is going to contend with those who contend with me, and save my children! No weapon formed against me or my children shall ever prosper! Let God arise and all His enemies be scattered!
I bind fear in the name of Jesus! I loose the peace of God that surpasses all understanding upon me and my children. Lord, encamp your angels round about my home, my kids, my car, and our beings. Deliver us from all evil! We are truly living in wicked times, where wrong is called right, and right is called wrong.
God, grant me and my children resiliency and holy boldness to go forth in your power and your anointing! Favor with the manager and the authorities. With everyone involved with my housing situation...shut the mouth of the enemy in Jesus' name.
For your Glory!
Amen

His NAME is Jesus!
Amen, Brother Rutledge. Preaching is STILL foolishness to the world; but there are still men and women who are just foolish enough to believe and be saved! That I may never stop being so foolish.
It's the Gospel, Church!

Wow! Great resource. THANKS. I hope we can provide downloads like this on our church website when it is finished.... Did you have to get special permission to use these messages, and if so, did you just contact the speakers directly, or how did you go about doing that? Can we put a link to this site on our church website?
