Hypertension

Please pray for me.....I have just been recently diagnosed with this disease. My blood pressure was so high that I could have just dropped dead from a heart attack or stroke at anytime. Praise Jesus that I did not. I am now on medication for it. Also, I need to find employment and a new church home.

Hi Tammy, and welcome to our humble abode, the GNC, where you will find some prayer warriors!
I also have hypertension for over 20 yrs now, so its not fatal, dear, just follow the doctors directions, you MUST cut out salt!
Gradually, but do it...and exercise more! It helps, believe me. I dont know your particulars, but you will survive, I'll be praying for you...the doctor of doctors, JESUS CHRIST, will take notice of all our prayers, you'll be fine, don't worry! ;) HE already kept you from getting a stroke or worse!! :eek: See?
Anxiety can only make it worse, just take it one day at a time, take care of yourself, are you baptized acts2:38?
As for a church home, pray earnestly, and before you know it, GOD will direct your paths. HE always is in control, and knows whats best for us! HE found me one by my just 'thinking' about it!! Wow! and more than I could've ever even 'dreamed' of.
Just be open to HIS direction.
Employment is just a prayer away, also...GOD has a way of making a way where there seems none...rely on HIM, and HE will honor that...and provide for you until that job opens up!

Oh, BTW, Tammy, I made a bit of a mistake in saying that it is not a fatal condition, because it is if we do not take care of ourselves! I just did not want to make it seem like there's no hope, because in JESUS, there's always even more than HOPE! We play a big part in our own health.

Here is a personal story of encouragement
I thought this would be a good time to tell of a Healing of High Blood Pressure. I was diagnosed with High BP in Nov 2001..I was on medication. I didnt say too much about it too my family and a close friend but the Dr told me that I had a very good chance of having heart attack and stroke because No one in my fathers family has died of anything BUT Heart Attacks inckuding my own father. My BP was running 200/103..Times it would be in the high 180's over 90's..
I went to Texas Ladies Retreat with UPC Lady who is on this board. The first night I came back to the motel room and told her God told me to throw away all my meds and he would heal me. To make a long story short I think I might have scared her LOL because she knew that if God didnt heal me that was not a very smart thing to do. To make a long story short I did throw my meds away and on Sunday Night I got called out at her church by a preacherwho had never saw me before he said God was telling him that I had High Blood Pressure but there was gonna be victory in my house and I would put the devil to flight..I did just that. I was healed and I have never to this day had another med.. The dr even tells me my BP is good when I see her.. God heals , Its forever!!

WOW!! Gives me hope, to be sure...my doctor said if I'd lose weight, I can get off the med's ... and I know he's right, I mean, that excess weight is not good for me, and is a bad testimony, period.
And exercise is a must, so I've been walking a lot lately, it really does help and it makes me feel better.
I do know and trust that GOD can heal me, yes...and I also know that HE can't be happy with 'gluttony' that lead to this high weight! I also have had several times, readings that high, only by GOD's mercy have I made it!! I am guilty of not sticking with diet/exercise regimens...please pray for me any/every one.
I know that HE has given me many wake-up calls regarding that, it is in my hands as well, for I reap what I sow...
I am going to a ladies retreat camp this next Thursday, so I know there will be special annointing there, its all sisters, true, but the guest preachers at night services are men of GOD...I'm expecting victory in many areas of my life!!

I know how you feel Tammy. I've had a few scares with increased blood pressure. I was recently hospitalized. I take 100mg of Toprol along w/a water pill daily. Hopefully, at the end pf this summer I will be able to get off the pmedication. Pregnancy and stress is what caused my hypertension. Bad job environment and bad marriage. God is able to move all mountains in our lives. We just have to keep on trusting in what we don't see, but what we believe in that God can and will do.:)

In the past 20+ years that I've had uncontrolled hypertension, I have been prescribed most every med there is, to little avail., and I don't care to try anymore..

In re-reading the posts above that I posted like 3yrs ago..it astonishes me that little has changed.

Only that I now know more than I did..about WHY it is .. or has been such a problem; in seeing a specialist over a year ago (lo-o-ong story) he made me aware that I have a related congenital defect that is most likely the "culprit" behind these problems! :eek: Nowadays with greater technology, this condition is caught (and fixed) in babies..even before they're born. :eek: *sigh*

Something that other doctors could've "checked out" or even told me about, it kinda makes me mad :mad: and madder still that they blamed ME personally for my HIGH blood pressure, :realmad: when it was underlying factors that the LORD had to bring to "light"..praise HIS NAME!

YEt, after several (PAINFUL) surgical procedures done a year ago, I'm still not much better off., instead I find my pain worsening in the last few weeks.

All I can advise others is to have as much testing as possible to find underlying reasons for ANY health disorder or crisis.

In my case I do believe that it was GOD that intervened to make me aware of what was hidden from me...and I can only continue to rely on HIM to take me the rest of the way to a resolution that HE already knows about., has planned for me since before I was born. :yeah:

I cannot imagine how I could cope with such things in my life without the loving arms of JESUS to comfort me. :angel:
I praise GOD for finding TRUTH in the "nick of time"..and come what may I KNOW where I will be, when that time comes.
