View Full Version : Can a Church fall apart?

I have just woken up. Just recieved the Holy Ghost! Just now understand the burning I have inside that to start with was just for the knowledge and now for SO much more. Praising Jesus... Worship... I thought what I had been doing was enough... But now I am awake and I want to shout unto the Lord!!

I can't say what I want to for fear of it sounding offensive (or for fear that if I say it on an open forum the devil could twist ones view on things to something it may not be) but there has been or could be a split at my church. I know the pastors do not want this obviously.

I need a Pastor to talk to. Not my own. I spoke to my Pastors wife and she told me things like this happen and that we will just pick up the slack and move forward. I agree... but I feel down and urked.. I'm sure the devils trying to bring me down and I won't let him.

Please if you could email me at Rogersk07@wowway.com

Sister Rogers just igore the junk and do like the three little monkeys.Hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil and accept no disgruntled phone calls. If you do all these things plus prayer and fasting and bible reading and loving Jesus you will make it to heaven. What does the bible say:

James 4:7
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
(KJV)

Sister, I've been through a church split as a teen. It was tough. But just keep your eyes on Jesus and pray hard both for yourself and the people in your church. And WORSHIP ~ fill your home and your heart with praise to the Almighty. He'll bring you through. And you never know what your prayers will do ~ your intercession could prevent it.

We often talk about getting a burden for the lost, but something every church needs are saints burdened for the church.

If you look at the many times Paul talks about prayer, the often repeated theme is not "pray for the lost" but "Pray for us" or "pray for one another"

The simply truth is, we won't need to pray for lost souls (in general) to be saved if the church is healthy. If the church is healthy, it is or will be a growing church. It will be an outreaching church. It will be a burdened church.

Now, I am not saying we should not pray for souls, especially calling out the names of people you know in prayer, but I am emphasising the important point that God uses His church. God goes through His church. You will not find an Angel or God Himself preaching the gospel anywhere in the bible.

So the best thing for this world is that the church would be a healthy church. Therefore we need to get a burden for our own churches.

A Healthy Church worships
A Healthy Church intercedes
A Healthy Church Witnesses
A Healthy Church Is Burdened for souls
A Healthy Church is Bold
A Healthy Church is United
A Healthy Church is On Fire
A Healthy Church is concerned about each and every meeting as a potential chance to save a lost soul or edify and heal a believer

and whatever the issues are there the best thing to do is don't get involved. Stay on fire for God and continue loving Jesus and he'll take care of you and help you through! Stay in prayer and pray for your local brothers/sisters seems like they need it right now.

Welcome to the family of the Most High God! We love you!

I can't say what I want to for fear of it sounding offensive (or for fear that if I say it on an open forum the devil could twist ones view on things to something it may not be) but there has been or could be a split at my church. I know the pastors do not want this obviously

I survived a church split in 2003. I attended an independent Oneness church for nearly 17 years until the big split occurred. The reasons for the split were many:

- lack of pastoral accountability
- nepotism in church positions (the senior pastors were married to the founder's daughters)
- cover-up of sin in the church concerning the founder
- emphasis shifted from soul-winning to making money
- pastoral involvement in Quixtar/Amway
- dating restrictions on the single men in the church
- keeping the single men isolated from the rest of the congregation
- One local pastor verbally abused his congregation

The list went on. I will go on record to say the pastor was the one who wanted the split, not the congregation. He claimed he was following God's will in splitting the church, essentially kicking everyone out who disagreed with him and the way he handled business. I was one of those he kicked out along with about 100 other people. This particular pastor rejected truth long ago [he used to be Apsotolic until the church turned away from the Holy Ghost as part of the new birth], and refused to listen to any inputs for reform or reconciliation. In fact, following the "split" he refused to contact any of those who left. He left us all out to the wolves with no explanation.

His timing was horrible. He planned it for 19 March 2003 - the same night we went to war in Iraq. At that time 40 members of that church were deployed, and now were left spiritually stranded.

Now, I am in a healthy church which preaches truth and the pastor does not act like he is above the law...he lives what he teaches. God will bless and keep you if you hold on to His hand.

What perfect timing God has, no?

Today our sermon was on "If John the Baptist sent a representative to our church" using Luke 7:20-22 as the foundation.

Jesus told Johns followers: Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

He could have said "Well duh, goofy people. Of course I am the Christ." instead He let the truth testify for itself.

A healthy church will do the same.. its works in the spirit will testify to its place in the kingdom of God.

PRAY PRAY PRAY.

I have been in church for 4 years, but just got the revelation of how much prayer is ESSENTIAL to my walk with God.

Also, I agree that should anyone contact you about gossip or anything bad, just stop them.

1Th 5:22 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/1Th/1Th005.html#22) Abstain from all appearance of evil.

I will be praying for your church too!

Your sister in Christ,
Sarah C.

Sis just hold fast to the Word of God and it will help you through this time of transition don't allow the devil to make this for evil in your life. Resist him and he has to flee from you in Jesus name. It is true what your pastors wife told you these things do happen I am said to say but it happens I pray that you stay strong. Draw close to the Lord and he will give you his strength. Read Isaiah 40:31 he will give you his strength and help you! please let me know if I can be more of a help to you we are all here for you as you go through this hard time

God Bless you
Pastor Jess
