View Full Version : A second GNC

I am considering opening a "Second GNC" with the goal of outreach. Trinitarians would be able to post there, the only rule would be be nice.
The restrictions I have on this GNC about oneness-trinity debates and salvation being questioned would not apply there. I have been strict on that issue here to keep this a purely Apostolic Forum. That will not change!.But in this second GNC (I don't know if it would be called that) It would be open forum for everyone, in hopes that some might be won.
Let me know what you think!
It would be completely seperate from this forum. I think if we do this the "Biblical salvation" category here would just go away.
Unregistered people could also post there.

I think that is a good idea except the part bout leting unregistered people post.
I mean what if they cause a ruckus they could go in and out saying what they wanted to say without being punished.

That would be set up as "Moderator approval is required before an unregistered persons post shows up".
Bro Rutledge would be the one in total control of that. The reason for allowing unregistered to post is for people with a sincere question that do not want to fool with signing up.
The idiots will just waste their time, as the post will never show up.
We will see.....

It is possible that there could come some good from it. However, I voted "maybe" as I can see potential problems with it, the least of which a tremendous amount of strive and debate would follow, none of which gives glory to God. But, as I said, "maybe." I would not be quick to rule out any potential.
Do I ever get tired of straddling a fence or what??? :)

Can you get it successfully advertised?? something like the Readytobefree campaign. www.readytobefree.com
John Atkinson

It could be promoted. Ready to be free is an awesome thing. The only flaw in my consideration is that it is pure UPCI. The church and winning souls trancends being able to announce "lookie what we did" at a conference. I am not anti-UPC, I am pro CHURCH. I don't care what sign hangs on the door of the assembly someone gets won to God thruogh our outreach efforts. As long as they follow Acts 2:38 as essential, one God and holiness, that is all that counts.
My biggest concern would be that debates from here would carry over there. I would want the Apostolics from here to band together and be united in it as an effort to win souls, and keep our disagreements hee alone.
I think, if it is possible, that a unified front from people of God from different orgs and church groups could be a powerful evangelistic tool.
I would love nothing better than this GNC to be filled with threads praising God for another soul being won to God through a united outreach effort of this cafe membership.
Sure we will have to deal with idiots and flamers from the trinity part, and even sadly from fellow apostolics, if they can be called that, but the experience of the paltalk live chat ministry has shown that it is worth it, as many folks have been baptized in Jesus name and received the Holy GHost
Is this possible or am I fantasizing? Can we here work together for common cause or is all we are capable of endless debate?
The desire to see some souls saved is the only reason I bother with the internet.
Yes, I love exercising creativity and technical skill at putting this stuff together, but I could do that for the world and have money instead of sitting here broke. But the calling and vision of seeing people come to God is upon me. What else can I do?

Brother John, you said:
"Yes, I love exercising creativity and technical skill at putting this stuff together, but I could do that for the world and have money instead of sitting here broke. But the calling and vision of seeing people come to God is upon me. What else can I do?"
My response:
In that case, I would say go for it. It is all about souls anyway. If there was one soul won to God because of it, the devil and the wealth of the world could not buy that one soul back. What is worldly wealth anyway compared to the worth of a soul?

"The idiots will just waste their time, as the post will never show up."
"Sure we will have to deal with idiots and ..."
This saddens me. Didn't Jesus shed His blood for the "idiots" as well? You'll surely never reach them with that approach....

Jesus shed his blood for all.
I am glad God loves us all because that gave me hope.

I think we all should be more careful about how we refer to people.
It is easy to see them as just numbers and forget that God really loves them all and nobody is better than anyone else.
Also I should not wirte or post anything at this time of morning, because I go nuts around 2:00 every morning. I am too stubborn to go to bed.
God bless

JustMe,
I am one of whom writers describe as "he doesn't suffer fools gladly."
I can be very blunt in my speech, I am not nor will I ever will be one who is politically or religously correct. I call a duck a duck, not a web-footed aquatic avian.
If my usage offends you. I apologize and can only say that I will attempt to do better....but no promises ;)
And yet, somehow, someway, God can even use me.....

Well, Bro. Rutledge, I must say you gave me a good laugh when I came back on and read your re-revised post as well as all of your follow up posts! :)
And, John, there's just some stuff that grieves me. That's how the words hit me. There's some who may have a huge inner battle and come across as what someone might call an "idiot" and they'll never be reached if they are treated as such. Thus, my comments.

'Tis ok, The people I refer to as "idiots" are those who have made themselves unreachable.
I would never refer to a "seeker" as such.
In an outreach circumstance, I likely would use more tact.

This sounds great!
By the way, Just Me... I was one that was labeled "unreachable". My mother's pastor told her I would never be saved, she might as well give up. That noone would ever be able to reach me! I'm sure glad Jesus didn't think so! That was 22 yrs ago. She never gave up! He reached for me 20 yrs ago. When she (Mom) told me what her pastor had said, I determined never to give up on anyone.
Thank You Jesus!
