The new edition broke a few hours before midnight last night (April 30) and the private e-mails have been about 50-50. Some angry UPCI's have castigated me for suggesting that the sacred cow, HARVESTIME, needs to be led to pasture, shot, and buried. Others say, it's about time. Check it out. Bro. John and Bro. Rutledge have written fine articles that offer great Internet ministry possibilities to the local church.

Hey brother, I saw your books advertised in the ALJC's magazine.

Servant, I was contacted by their AAA (Apostolic Author's Assn) ran by a Bro. & Sis. Smithson of Franklin, TN. I think they featured Believer's Bootcamp, the flip-book (Confronting Racism / Homosexuality) and the one I co-authored with Bishop David Wilson, Spiritual Breadworks.

I'd like to comment about FaithchildForum.Com. It is an article-driven site. When there's a controversial topic, the discussion board reflects it. When it is a topic that is informative and/or one in there is general agreement on, the discussion board is slow but the hits are steady. This month's Manifesto is generally agreed upon and the other articles are quite informative. The board isn't getting much action but the hits are at a high level. If you have time you should visit and at least read Bro. John's and Bro. Rutledge's articles. God bless!

I'll add that Bro Yohe's site is a very good one. If penetrating articles that represent "thinking outside the box" are the kind of thing you like, go there. It is worth it.

Somebody needs to rattle the cage. Bro Yohe does it well.

Do people still listen to harvestime?

I listened everyweek for several years but that was a long time ago. I almost forgot it was there, but the other day I tuned in and it still sounded the same so I guess I didn't miss much.

....I only got to skim over some stuff and really wanted to read your ideas when I was more able to -- especially the "house church" stuff!

I wish there were an apostolic "house church" around here!! It's been my desire for a few years now to be a part of one....

Yes, that's my Katie. I took that picture of her a few days ago with my little $45 digital camera and, after adjusting it a bit, that's how it turned out. It makes her look so intense.

Bro. Rutledge, truer words have never been spoken!

Btw, my server has crashed (again!) and won't be up until late Sunday afternoon. So bear with us and try again. Also I solicit your prayers. the server e-mailed me that all data may be lost. That would be a devastating blow to my on-line ministry. I solicit your prayers.

Sunday Update: The site is up but greatly damaged. The guest book, discussion board, the poll, the entire e-mail list (almost one thousand names), in fact the bottom half of the site is gone. Much will be restored in the next few days, some things are forever gone. I need your prayers. I've been financially pressed anyway, this is not a good thing. Pray for us. :(

A little update on reaction to the Monthly Manifesto, "It's Time To Dump Harvestime!" My cousin attended the Larry Smith vrs. David Norris presentations at UGST on Friday morning (Btw, he said that Larry Smith more than held his own against David Norris). Anyway he stopped by Harvestime Booth where they were recording the symposium presentations. The Harvestime guy asked him if he had seen my Manifesto, My cousin said, "Yes!" The Harvestime guy preceded to bash me and my ideas for several minutes. After listening to his diatribe, my cousin's rejoinder was, "You know Jim Yohe is my cousin, don't you?!" Ha! He said the guy turned six shades of red!

Bro. Yohe, that was a well thought out piece. I'm sure you were not trying to solicit work, but with your background in radio, you would certainly be a valuable asset in pulling off, such a task.

As I read your article, I realized the size of the time warp, that the leadership of the the UPCI is in. [and I thought it was limited to the stuff we see here everyday: clothing, hair, beards, etc] :spin:

I wish your ideas were met with a genuine concern for the lost, but instead, I imagine they will be met with resentment and resistance. How sad.

I know that somewhere in my geocities site (listed on my profile) I have a couple of forums that I visit listed....along with links to some of the sites of folks here and elsewhere. If I run across any more that strike me and are not overly repetitive of what I already have, I'll list them on my links page, too. Hope nobody minds that. :)

Rule Change

Rule:
Posting Competitive Links: Posting competitive links to other similar discussion boards is not permitted. This prevents the dilution of the membership of this board that has been in place for years. Too many boards can greatly reduce the amount of posts on this or other boards so that the discussion board becomes much less effective and enjoyable. I also feel it is wrong for a new start-up board member or adminstrator to stand in the halls of a long established work and attempt to get members to move to their new board.
Should now read:
Posting Competitive Links: Posting competitive links to other similar discussion boards is permitted. When posting a link to these kinds of boards please ensure that the board is run by Apostolics. A category will be created for posting favorite links. As a courtesy, please do not "bump" the links up by posting it repetatively to increase the exposure of the link, as this is considered rude in any discussion forum.

I have modified the rules to reflect this. My apologies to Bro Nawbee.

Proverbs 16:18-22
(18) Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
(19) Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
(20) He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.
(21) The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.
(22) Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly.

I am capable of making errors, If I am wrong, I'll admit to it and adjust, when I know I am not wrong, I won't be moved. I admit that I am still new to the moderation business, and while I may not be real good at it, I am what God has placed here, I am certain He had a reason for that!

God Bless and Thanks for the kind words...

BroJesus:
Matthew 18:15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

Me:
I sit, literally in tears.

You lead with your heart, Bro. John. That HURTS!

Still, this is what we have been Commanded to do.

Salvation isn't about never being wrong. It is about repenting and letting God have all the Glory for forgiving us!

HALLELUJAH!!!

You are a lot better at this than you give yourself credit for. I have run these things for years now and you aren't half bad at all!

Having a temper and great passion aren't bad things at all, as long as these are, in the end, submitted to Christ. You are proving to me, sir, that yours are.

The Lord Told me to come and see about you for myself. I rejoice that it has turned out as it has.

Lord Willing, I'll be contacting you in the near future about something that I and my associates, at least, believe will be very exciting.

I am, your brother in Christ and your friend!

I am happy with the resolution of the matter and am praising God for it.

Psalms 133:1-3
(1) <A Song of degrees of David.> Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
(2) It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
(3) As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

Lord Bless!!!

I have to agree, GNC, is the best discussion forum on the web.

I am a part of other boards, but this is the first one I go to, and sometimes I never make it to the others.
There is a wide range of diversity among the posters, and subjects. It makes for an interesting time of discussion. I enjoy the challenging and thought provoking discussions.

Although I haven't ever joined in any of the discussion on Faithchild's site, I enjoy reading the articles, and have been blessed by them.

BroJohn:
It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;

Me:
This refers to the anointing oil that was used to Sanctify the first High Priest under the Law. The oil was poured on his head but ran down to Cover his physical organs of reproduction, therein Covering all of his "seed" as well...

The proof is the comparison of the anointing oil to the dew that brought forth fruit on the afore mentioned plains year 'round.

Of course in the Christian era, the Anointing Oil is the Holy Ghost and we are all members of the Royal Priesthood!

How appropriate that the Lord would Manifest His Will in such a manner at this juncture!

Nawbee, no offense, but your explaination sounds very charismatic-like. A lot of WOFers use the same explaination and it, imo, works to strip away the deity of Jesus in the way it sounds/appears.

Nawbee
06-02-2003, 02:14 PM
I can do nothing about how the fakes have made it sound and appear. Keep in mind that anti-charismatic isn't necessarily the Truth. Also, the Lord reminded me of a saying I used a while back: Rat poison is 99.9% corn.

That means that the Charismatics don't have it all wrong. Or, put another way, just because a Charismatic teaches it, doesn't make it false.

What I wrote is what the bible says.

You either accept it or you do not.

To deny it is to deny the very Words of Christ and Paul and others.

Still, rather than stripping the deity of the Spirit of Jesus, it raises the Anointed (us) to the level of children.

BroPaul:
Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Jesus: Father in the Spirit and Brother in the flesh; God Manifested as Saviour and Kinsman Redeemer!

Jesus is the Heir of God, and we, with Him, join heirs:

Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

The children of God and the siblings of Jesus. Get used to it.

I'm going to use a phrase I really don't like:

You're preachin' to the choir here. I'm a former charismatic, Nawbee. Perhaps that's the reason I am sensitive about going out of my way to not sound like them.
