I do not know if I would be considered young any more, but I am in a re-birth of my own ministry, which explains the depression and burn out I had been feeling. This call is too precious and too necessary for the Kingdom. If you feel the call, time to talk to your pastor, fast, pray, and study to prepare yourselves for your ministry.
So, in a way, we all are starting in the ministry.

22 years old. Yes, I am very young. But God called me to preach more than a year ago (October 2003). I was then sent to this great Summer Capital City of Baguio to plant a new church, less than a year ago (April 2004) together with two assistants who are also young people like me. What a challenge! I must admit that there were times when I feel great pressure especially when we have no visitors on Sundays and there are no people getting baptized in weeks and months. (As of this moment, I have only baptized two in a period of six months. I baptized three during our first month here but the work was temporarily stopped for about three or four months and then we came back just last August.)Unfortunately, these two young people whom I baptized last November and December haven't attended a single service since the day they were baptized. The three souls I baptized during our first month are also not attending because one has transferred to Manila and the other two are kids from a broken home.

I am not seeing the fruits yet of our labor, but by faith, I know that someday I will. By the way, as of this moment, we are preparing two ladies for baptism. They have asked us already about where we baptize people and we have agreed that after we have finished our Home Bible Study Curriculum they are going to get baptized. Yipee!

I feel that God is preparing me for a mighty move of His Spirit in this region of our country. I am delighted to hear my pastor put such great confidence in me, in saying that I am going to reach our neighboring provinces and not just Baguio. What a vision...but I believe it's from God.

I am asking everyone in this cafe - both the young and the not-so-young to pray for me...for us, young men who are called to preach.

God bless!

All I can say is preach on bro. God will give the increase as long as you're faithful. Be blessed and encouraged.

I am unsure if I would be considered "young", but I do feel that way. I will soon be going before the board to be licensed, March specifically.

We are already involved in ministry through the nursing home and the prison. God is certainly blessing it.
We will eventually be evangelizing.
We, as a nation are due for a revival. We have heard about Azusa st. We have heard about the great revivals over seas. It is now our turn.
Is there anyone who feels the hunger for this? Do you thirst for the things of God being manifest in your local community?
God is going to satisfy the hungry and thirsty. He is going to give us our desire as we see His mighty move in our day. It will no longer be a story that we have heard, but rather one that we will have lived. What an opportunity for all of us to get to see.
Sold out, I will be praying for you daily. I believe that you will succeed in your endeavour if you will but hold on. There are hurting people out there who need this message.

Congrats Bro Ray. I hope the licensing process turns out well for you. I'm on soldoutforJesus' spectrum as far as age is concerned (21 years old). I truly believe God wants to do great and amazing things here in the USA like overseas. We just have to want it bad enough. I'm getting tired of reading all the great revivals in books. I want to see them happen in my life and I believe I will have them in my life. Thinking anything less and I might as well not preach "revival anyhow". God bless you.-

Thank you for praying for me Bro. Ray and for all the encouraging words.

Bro. Frank, I have also read so many books on prayer and revival but I have yet to see those things in my life.

Now, back to my knees..

I am excited by the desire that I see being presented here. With this kind of hunger and thirst for God, how can we be denied? I know that if men will pray, that God will do things in our lifetimes that will be truly astonishing.

I am an avid believer of Mark 16:17 and 18:
17) And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name they shall cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18) They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.

That's a promise and since God always keeps His word I'm gonna stand on it and believe it. In Jesus name!!

I dont know if 33 is young or not...lol....but I do feel the call, it has been confirmed by a minister friend of mine...I always felt like i was running from a call, not any more its time we stand up and declare loud and proud, that God is good, Jesus is coming, black is black and white is white, and hell is hot, it seems we play pattycake with other beliefs in order not to offend them or with people who dont believe this....now is not the time to sit

ShiningEpistle

The burden is too great to just sit on it. Just think about all the lost and sin sick dying people and that keeps things in perspective that this message is too important to just throw by the wayside.

I'm not worried about being young. A man's gift will make room for him. So I'm not interested in linking up with anybody. I have faith in God that my pastor will see the fruit of my labor with God. That's all I'm gonna say. Be blessed.

PS To everyone, just wait on the Lord. Don't rush Him or His timing. If you're truly called your pastor will see it and will work accordingly. Just be faithful and do the work as if you had whatever title or license you're seeking. Much love.

Shining,
No disrespect intended here...A title ,or license does not make one a preacher..yes i agree all things must be in order...i wonder what a district board would had said to john the baptist if could come walking in these days as he was back in the days of jesus. the annointing does not come from licenses. as for me up untill this point in my life i have been the type of person not given to making statements or speeches in front of large crowds, but as i continue seeking God's will i feel myself becoming more bolder, i see myself, feel myself becoming someone God wants me to be, and with that comes great comfort

ShiningEpistle

That's just my point. It was my intent to relay that it doesn't take a license or anything. Just go preach. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I'm trying to be better with how I word things. Be blessed.

No offence taken. What kind of man would I be if I got offended every time someone wanted clarification or had an opinion on something I said. It's just a growing experience. I pray you have good services today in church. Take care.

It is sad that so many feel that to be a preacher is to be a great orator (not that anyone is saying that here, but it is a thought).

If one is called to preach, then wait until God opens the doors. It was 11 years before I followed the calling in my life. When the doors opened, I didn't want to step through it. God made sure that I did. We were literally kicked out of our old state and sent to another.
I had dug in my heels for two years until God pushed so hard that I had to give in. It is a long story and there is not enough time to go into it here. Suffice it to say that we are where we are supposed to be and God has blessed our move greatly.
I am thankful that God is persistent.

Greetings,

In response to your question, yes I am young and I have been called by the Lord to preach the gospel. I am 28 years old and have been in ministry for a total of 7 years. I was ordained a minister at the age of 20 right before my 21st birthday. However I recived my calling when I was 17 years old. At the time I was not ready and I fell back into the world of sin. But God had mercy and brought me out with a strong hand. I was ordained an Elder at the age of 25 and God has put the seal of approval upon my ministry. God is an awesome God and I know that he has more in store for me. God bless
