I just wanted to post my testimony that I was baptized according to Acts 2:38 on June 12, 2005. I have not received the Holy Ghost but am looking forward to receiving it. I know receiving it should not be a scary thing but sometimes it does scare me. It is hard to comprehend the idea of speaking in a language I do not know sometimes. Has any one else ever felt that way? Please let me know by responding to this thread or by PM. I just wanted everyone to know that this board helped a lot in leading me to the Lord. You all should never end this board. It helped me deal with a lot of things in my life especially my underlying need for something more and greater in my life than what the "world" can offer and that is Christ Jesus. I ask all of you for prayer as I continue to grow in my walk with the Lord everyday. Thanks for letting my give my praise to God and you all.

Love Forever

Praise God Sis! You have embarked on a wondeful journey that has no end. Jesus will
be your constant companion!
I was water baptised and received the Holy Ghost in 1983. And it is true, it gets better
and better.
I struggled with receiving the Holy Ghost for a couple of weeks after being Baptised, because I felt I was'nt good enough. I did'nt realize that while I was responding to
God's conviction in my life and I was repenting, faith was what I needed to exercise.
The Holy Ghost is a gift. That gift is already bought and paid for, and Jesus wants you to have it even more than you want to receive it.
All you need to do to recieve it besides what you've done already is to open your heart to Jesus, and to worship him with your voice. His Spirit will be right there, and
you will feel a little feeling inside your heart, a smile will cross your face and your tongue will start feeling heavy, keep praising him, thank him for what he's done for you, and you will soon feel yourself starting to speak in a language you never knew.
It will seem strange to you, but keep opening yourself to him.

You can receive the Holy Ghost at Church, in the shower, in the car, on the street,
in the bed. Almost anywhere.
I received mine at a Sunday night service, after I started worshipping, my hands started to shake, a smile came across my face, and voila, I was speaking in a heavenly language!

Keep us posted Sis! You're making the right choice.
I am excited for you!

God Bless!
Ronb

Yes I felt that way, too...I had to do a lot of research, study...meditation, prayer..till I was finally able to at least consider it as okay..
YET, it still took me over a year..I had always felt that GOD would give it to me when HE wanted to..and not when I was expecting it..or other people were trying to "give" it to me.

AS it turns out, HE did..whilst I slept...after a very emotional crisis event in my life...HE showed me how really close HE was to me, by giving me HIMself as THE Comforter..and that was something so-o awesome, I forgot about my crisis, and just leaned on HIM..the mighty strong tower!
