Well...

My wife's mother has been quarantined for 10 days due to a SARS scare in Marshall, TX.

I guess that the TBC choir came to the Lighthouse church there in Marshall and some guy invited his mother to come. Well, that mother was from Tapei, Taiwan, and had just returned from there to the states recently. That's where there has been a reported outbreak, I guess.

To make a long story short, half the church has undergone tests and is being monitored, and since DeAuna's mom was watching the grandaughter of the lady from Taiwan, she's now under quarantine for 10 days and will be arrested if she leaves the house for that period of time.

Please pray for Marshall, the folks at the Lighthouse, and for DeAuna's mom, Linda.

I guess some of the info I was given, I misunderstood.

Anyway, they need prayer.

Oldpreach,

Thanks for your kind and encouraging words. I have been traveling the past several weeks to New York for a conference on eldership/home churches and a working visit with my friends in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

I need to visit with my friends at the assembly in Marshall, Texas, but I think I will wait at least a few days. I appreciate everyone who is praying with and for the assembly at Marshall.

God bless,

Jim

LUFKIN WOMAN RECOVERING, TDH RULES OUT SARS
Thursday, May 29, 2003

A Lufkin woman who has been isolated at a relative`s home after exhibiting symptoms associated with SARS is feeling much better. A local health official said the woman was symptom-free yesterday.

The state health department and two local health agencies began investigating the case over the weekend after the woman reported symptoms associated with Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. The woman had recently returned from a trip
to Taipei, Taiwan. Sharon Shaw is the administrator of the Angelina County and Cities Health District. She tells the the Lufkin Daily News in today`s newspaper that the Texas Department of Health has pretty much ruled out the possibility of SARS even though the woman`s test results had not been returned.
