Okay now I have a 7 yearold daughter who cannot wait to grow up she also has the Holy Ghost. The other day we were riding in the car and she looked at her legs and said "Mom, if we don't cut or hair why is it okay to shave the hair on legs?" she then went on to say well I am not sure I am going to shave mine (I have told her when she is 12 she can start shaving) I told her she has plenty of time to pray and decide what God wants her to do. Now I was not brought up in this and when I got in church it was a VERY loose church God has been merciful with me and led me into the fullness of His word. I have never really thought about not shaving my legs as I am brunette and hairy and you know how our society veiws this. I am wondering though if perhaps God is trying to speak to me about this because honestly I don't know what else to tell my daughter and this really bothers me. I would like some input from you sisters that DO NOT cut your hair. Thankyou in advance!

Wow, what a question!! What a cute daughter you have., so smart too!
Well as for the 'legs' thing, I'm not sure...its never even been broached around here! Never been a need for me, as I'm naturally 'hairless' on legs! For the most part. I stopped shaving about 10 yrs ago, (wa-a-y before being saved) they're barely visible. I guess I'm lucky that way.
I think it may have to do with genes, my DAD of all persons, his legs are beautiful! For a guy! NO hair., and white as paper!
{He'd be so embarassed if he knew I was telling!}, but I've noticed that my youngest son is similarly blessed as my dad! lol

Hey I am trying to keep the masculine spirit off me.But thats just me okay.If you feel a conviction not to do this then don't but not me.I will just keep shaving, waxing etc.I know that some of the older ladies in Pentecost do not shave but when you get older the hair is not so prolific. There are some pastors who preach against shaving your legs.I am glad the choice is mine....But honestly theres no bible precedent for not shaving your legs. The head is symbolic of authority and many do not cut the hair on their heads as a sign of submission to authority. That is a whole other issue though.lv sis.c

Yes Ddc,
It has all to do with the hair on the "head" not the legs! :) Thank God!

Let me qualify this by saying......this is 100% MY OPINION! I think God could CARE LESS if you shave your legs or not. However, you husband might care! I don't mean this mockingly:)

Thanks everyone. I like ddc101's answer. I like for my daughter to know WHY we do and believe everything that we do. I want her to be able to stand when I am not with her. No one on either side of our family is in this truth and I want her to know she's special and not a freak. I don't like giving her "pat" little answers. I think I will keep on shaving till God says don't because I just can't get past the way the stubble feels--YUCK.
