Secret Sisters

My local sisters are secret sistering till November. Does anyone have something you'd like to share about "secret sisters"? :cool:

Hi Sis lamama,
I read your post, and I got to thinking why do we have to wait until someone organizes a secret sister thing to be a secret sister. Why could'nt we just pray and let the Lord dirrect us to someone who is having a hard time, or doesn't have much money, etc. and just be a secret sister to her. Wow, thanks for getting me started. I am going to have fun with this. I already know who the Lord wants me to choose. Maybe next month or some time in the future it will be someone else. SS (Secret Sister) strikes again. lol

I have shared before that we do this regularly at our churches here., its great fun! Plus the blessings that come with it!
Yes, this can and is done, at special other times as needed, individually speaking. I've been recepient many times of thoughtful gifts along the way., AND, I've also been the giver!

We call it 'Heart Partners" over here in our church in Canberra. Those ladies who want to be in on it put their name, birthday and if applicable, their wedding anniversary date. That piece of paper goes into a container and we pick out a name and that is who we have for the year. We are encouraged to pray for them and their families each day give a small present on the dates given plus something each month. Not saying who it is on the card or book mark or what ever we give to them. It is fun, if they come regularaly to church. Mine this year, that I give to, is kinda hard to keep tabs on and very shy and not good at English but I have rung her and soon her baby will be born and I intend to visit more and get to know her more. Praying for her has been great too as she has children the same age as mine and once the family settles down with the baby again I hope my prayers will be answered and they will come back more often.
I think that is a good idea to just do it, weather you have an organised one or not. There are always needs in the church and the Lord will direct our paths.
I have to go for now but will come back this evening my time...it is now 12 pm Monday morning and we are enjoying a public holiday for the queens birthday. See you later.

We have done these things as well, but I just think it would be fun to just pick out someone who is having a hard time, or on a fixed income, or just someone God puts on your heart and be a secret sister to her even when no one else is doing it, or in addition to a regular secret sister ministry. Just leave her a card or a small gift on her pew, or in her car, or on her porch or whatever.
