I do believe in some standards, when it comes to a believer's life. Not legalism mind ya, but instead the outward holiness of an individual reflecting the inward holiness within.
There are some other standars I go by as well.
1. It is standard for me to go back to the all-you-can-eat-buffet at least once before going home.
2. It is standard for me to go on the web, not to the GNC, before I get my 1st cup of coffee.
3. It is standard for me to marinate chicken in a mixture of garlic, lemon, pepper, salt, and a bit of worchestshire sauce for kick.
Finally, it is standard for me to always end my psts here with my signature.

The military has an acronym "SOP," which stands for "Standard Operating Procedure."
In old times, when armies would go out to battle, a man would carry a large flag or banner with his army's symbol or emblem on it. It was called a "standard," and he was called the "standard bearer." His job was perhaps the most dangerous of all, because everyone in the opposing army was gunning for him! They wanted to bring the standard bearer, the one who held up the standard, down! Sound familiar?
Serv :)
John Atkinson

In addition, whenever the inevitable occured ie "Death of the Standard bearer" it was the job of whoever was closest to grab the standard before it touched the ground, and become the next standard bearer.
Also, an enemy objective has always been to capture the standard, if the enemy could bring the standard into captivity, it would destroy the morale of the army whose standard was captured, it was a given if the standard was taken by the enemy, the battle was lost.
In most armies, if the regimental colors (standard) was ever taken, the regiment was disgraced and it's members shunned by the rest of the army for allowing their standard to fall or be captured.
Worth considering.

Hey!!!!!!!!!! How was church yesterday, did we all preach on the same thing? Jesus!!!!!!!
I had a friend preach the who let the dogs out, from Matt 15:21 a few years ago, but I came back and preached it yesterday, Seizing your Miracle/I Remember What you Did?
In Matt and the book of Mark 7 where she is known as the Phenician citizen the bible says that, she heard what Jesus had done. Jesus came from Galilee, Judah, Jerusalem and Jordan and all the way healing and laying on hands, delivering people and it was no doubt noised abroad.
But Jesus first priority was to the Jews his chosen people. But even after he called her a dog she wouldn't leave, why?
Because she heard what he did in the other cities, he was her only help her last resort, and sometimes no matter what obstacles try to befall you, You've got to be steadfast, unmovable and always abounding in the work of the Lord, whe men tell you there is no way out, no way in, you can't make it you can't do it, it won't happen, you've got to reach way down on the inside and say I remember what he did.
Hallelujah, and if he healed the man with palsy and blind bartemeous he can heal me to, if he can provide the ram in the bush for Abraham, he can supply all my need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Why, because I remember what he did Jesus is my way maker, he is a very present help in a time of trouble.
How many can stand when someone calls you a dog, will you just give up and go or will you stand on what he did, will you stand on what you heard.
You've got to sieze your miracle, when the move of God comes by be in the place to receive your blessing. the bible says that the Holy Ghost will bring all things to your rememberance whatsoever you have heard, Are you siezing your miriacle today. Forsake not the assembling together of the saints as the manor of some is, and so much the more as you see the day of Christ approaching.
We are living in a time where there are wars and rumors of wars but I remember that the bible said, no weapon formed shall be able to prosper against a child of God.
How many remember what he did, and if you remember, it's time to sieze your miracle.
Give God a Praise.
Two Souls were saved yesterday, regular members but yesterday received the Holy Ghost.

Thank you PastorB. PS7 is my tool of choice. I like Illustrator ok but prefer Corel. The Light was done in CorelDraw 5 about 5 years ago and then exported as a jpeg. I have unfortunately lost the original corel file.
I do have a decent quality jpeg though. The lighting effect was done with KTP7.
I am going to be putting up a web graphics resource site as a part of the new Apostolic.Net. There will be a few things I have done there , including the Light.
Everything there will be a free download. I don't anticipate getting to that until mid June though. Wanna Contribute? :D

I have also played with Kai Power tools a bit. the filters are pretty cool. I like designing for sites but I wish I had the eye and insite you have for graphics.
Your graphics are very clean and tight and that makes the diffeence between the men and boys of this business.
I just like creating. If I need anything done and I have an idea I know you are a great resource, for a fee of course.

You asked,
Hey!!!!!!!!!! How was church yesterday, did we all preach on the same thing? Jesus!!!!!!!
I did. I preached Jesus. The title of the messge was, "Save Yourself" from Acts 2:40.
"Who Let the Dogs Out," huh. Now that is different. Whoever preached that must have had the hearer's undivided attention.
In fact, JUST WHO did let the dogs out anyway? :)

LOL. yeah well. I absolutely love my pastor to death. He is one of the best in our area. He doesn't let up from his standards and if he says something, he means it. we've been having revival lately and God has been moving in such an awesome way. I just wish I could go more often.
Well, here's my story. I started going to church when I was 12 and I got baptized in Jesus' name when I was 11. recieved the Holy Ghost when I was 13. But I have 3 sisters who have all had the Holy Ghost and backsliden. My brother has sought for it, but could never completely let go. My parents really don't like my pastor, so they don't go. My mom is Baptist and my dad is Church of Christ. They don't always let me go to church but I try to be the best witness that I can be.
But I go to church as often as I can. well, I guess I'll quit blabbing now and say bye, so bye!

After hearing it Bishop Jakes preached the same scripture, "The Kingdom Has Gone to the Dogs"
About the dogs--I remember this selection by jlgroce from the old cafe
A STRAY NO LONGER!
Matthew 15:21 – 28
In Matthew 15 we find a woman who has a problem. The Bible tells us that her daughter was vexed by a devil.
This was her little girl. Maybe she had been sick before. A cold here. A headache there, maybe even the flu from time to time. But nothing ever like this before. She can’t eat, she can’t sleep, she can’t play. She is grievously vexed with a devil. But one thing is constant, those eyes. There’s a strange look in her eyes. Eyes that tell you that this is no ordinary sickness, no ordinary problem, no ordinary trouble. Can you imagine the helpless feeling of this mother? I’m losing my little girl. I’m losing my little girl. It’s a helpless feeling.
Then one day, the news travels into the village that a man was coming to town. He was not just any man. He was no ordinary man. Oh yeah, she had heard about this man. Jesus was His name and delivering hopeless people was His claim to fame.
It was this same Jesus who had met a man whose body was withering with leprosy and he touched him and made him whole. It was this Jesus who had met a paralytic man. A man who had not moved his arms nor his legs for a long time. But Jesus told him to arise, take up your bed and walk and he did. It was this Jesus who had met a woman who had an issue of blood for twelve long years. She just simply touched the hem of His garment and was made whole.
This Jesus was coming by her way. Matthew tells us that she was so consumed with excitement that she ran out to meet Him. Why? Because if you want your little girl or boy back, you need to find an emancipator, a liberator, a demon chaser, yoke breaker, problem solver, mind fixer, you need to find Jesus.
The Bible tells us that she came and found Him and began crying out after Him. “Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David.” Now in the original language the word used here for cried suggests that she cried out and kept on crying out.
What happens then? We find Jesus doing exactly the opposite to what we think He should. He does not rush to her aid. He does not agree to follow Her home. He does not soothe her heart with words of encouragement. No, it says he remained silent. “He answered her not a word.”
She had heard that this man Jesus could do anything. Now when she came to him for help he was silent. It’s a hard thing church to deal with God’s silence. You wish that everything you ask for God gave it to you on the spot. But the truth is, that sometimes God says yes, sometimes God says no and sometimes he says wait. But how do you know the difference between a “no” and a “wait?” When God is silent do you give up on that prayer? Do you give up on asking God’s direction? Do you give up on that lost person you’ve been praying for? Do you give up and walk away and think that you wasted your time anyway? How do you deal with the silence of God?
All the things that they told you would work, don’t work. Do you stop praying then? Is that the point when you say, it’s not worth it. I can’t see any results from my prayers. I might as well go it on my own. Is that when you begin to figure things out yourself?
Matthew tells us this Canaanite woman, kept on crying out. She was persistent. She knew that if He didn’t answer, there would be no answer. You and I need to learn this lesson of persistent praying. God is looking for some saints who will say like Jacob, I won’t let you go until you bless me. God is looking for some saints who will stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. God is looking for that man or woman who will pray on and hold on and press on. Persistence. Persistence.
James 5:16 says “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” Don’t stop praying, pray on!
Matthew also lets us know that when she kept on crying on, that there were some voices that joined in. The disciples (of all people!) are saying.. “Send her away, for she crieth after us.” It would seem that they had tried themselves to get her to leave. They tried all different ways to persuade her to go. But she wouldn’t. Notice she paid them no mind. She just kept on crying out. In your walk with God, there are going to be those discouraging voices, I call them background noise, that ever so often from time to time will urge you to give up.
Finally, Jesus breaks His silence and says to her “I am not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
“Then came she and worshipped Him saying, Lord, help me.” Can you worship when all seems down? Go into your closet, lift up your voice, bow down and worship. I mean come to church, lift up holy hands, and worship when all is going down.
“It is not good to take the children’s bread and to cast it to dogs.” Was Jesus calling this woman a dog? Today we say that a dog is a man’s best friend but back in Jesus’ day, the dog was the most miserable creature on the face of the earth. For the most part they were not domesticated and could be seen roaming the streets barking at passers-by. But the most striking and disgusting thing was that they would eat almost anything. They would eat from garbage heaps and dumps. They would tear into the strewn, rotting carcasses of dead and decomposing animals. They were scavengers.
If Jesus was calling her this kind of dog? Sin will make us act like dogs. We will feed our minds and sometimes our bodies almost anything.
However the original language of the Bible here let’s us know that Jesus doesn’t call her a stray dog. He uses a different word that suggests a little dog, a pet, a housedog. In our King James we look at it as rejection but to her she sees a glimmer of hope in Jesus’ words.
She replies, “Truth Lord but the dogs eat from the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.” You see the Jews had called the Gentiles dogs all the time but never this kind of dog. They were always stray dogs but never housedogs. How did the dogs get into the house? Who let the dogs in?
She in essence says, you call me a pet dog then that means that I’ve got a master! Stray dogs are left on their own to fend for themselves. They don’t know where to find their next meal. But not a housedog. A housedog has a master.
She says “the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their Master’s table.”
His crumbs are better than everyone else’s dinner.
And so she says, Lord, just your crumbs alone will satisfy me. Just a little morsel from your hand will give me more than I ever needed. Just a little touch from you O, Lord will make me whole. Just a little word from you will soothe my aching soul. Just a little move of your Spirit can change my life. Just your crumbs, O Lord will satisfy me.
How did the stray dog become a house dog? This is the marvelous story of Calvary! Jesus came down from glory and kicked the door of salvation open on its hinges of grace and mercy and let dogs like you and me in. When the veil was rent from the top to the bottom in the temple it made access to all the stray dogs!
This Gentile (dog, to a Jew) was a preview of things to come! While the disciples (Jews) feel that the Messiah is their Messiah only, Jesus held His peace (answered her not a word) at the judgment seat of Pilate and was sent to Calvary as the supreme sacrifice that would open the door (veil rent) to the stray dogs (gentiles) and allow them to become house (the church) dogs—that have a master!
Peter’s preaching on the day of Pentecost was the beginning of the Church that Jesus provided for the salvation of all men as Peter used the keys to the kingdom (Acts 2:38) and later the opening of the door to the gentiles in Cornelius’ house. And Paul confirms that there is neither Greek nor Jew but that all are one in His House!
No wonder we count it the highest privilege given to us to proclaim the ONLY message that will change a stray to a Master’s possession! Acts 2:38! We offer no apologies for preaching this glorious message of salvation—to the Jew first and also to the Greek—for it is the power of God unto salvation!
And now He does not call us stray dogs nor house dogs but sons and daughters of God. Joint heirs with Jesus.
I’m glad today that Jesus let US dogs in!

Priase God!!!
PastorB- Thanks for the kind words, whatever talent I have is God given. Someday I will testify here of the pathway that led to this point, with a number of miracles, opportunities given that could only have been the hand of God preparing me for this work.
Oh well, may as well give it now:
I have always had an interest in art. I would love to have been a visual arts major in college, but instead I took Nuclear Engineering .
In Oct 1989 I started going to church here at First Apostolic Church, as Norwich Tabernacle was known then. There was no church newsletter at the time, I felt a burden for it and so started one. The articles were typed on an old typewriter, clip art gained from wherever, all put together with scissors and paste. (I still have some of these, I mean to scan them to pdf and put them on the web somewhere) :yeah:
Anyway, God blessed and I was able to get a i386 computer. Desktop publishing on a 386 was ...er...limited but possible. And so it went until 1993. October 1993 found me in pretty dire need of employment, in a job market that was nill. I prayed, and then applied for a job as an Electronic Technician at a Company called Intelligent Motion Systems. There I was blessed not only with a very good salary and rapid advancement to Sr Technician and was in charge of the repair department.
I had money now to buy better computer stuff. I spent $3600 on a brand spanking new Pentium 90 with a 1GB hard drive and a whole 16 MB of RAM, with a 17" (huge in that day) monitor. And a copy of Corel Draw3 :p
SHortly after that I began doing some of the product manuals for IMS off site, writing and drawing the technical illustrations for them. In 1996 God opened the door for me to have the full time position at IMS as a tech writer/illustrator/web master with virtually no experience in that field.
As a part of that I was in the marketing department and also worked on promotional brochures, magazine ads, catalogs ect. I was being paid real good money to master the skills and software packages which would enable me to do what I am doing now in the ministry of Apostolic.net.
I really had no business being a tech writer. But then we are talking about a company that went through its first two years in business with the word "Intelligent" mis-spelled on the letterhead. Seriously.
Anyway, I was asked to take that position. There were others who worked there that were upset because the position wasn't opened to allow them a shot at it.
After a few years God opened the door to Apostolic.Net, the hosting business, and other things. IMS is still one of my clients for web hosting. But the door opened for me to move into this full time and have been full time for 1 year 2 months.
It was all God giving me the space to prepare me for where I am now. And of course now is a preperation for later.
I guess the moral of the testimony is God has us where we are for a reason. There were times that I was stressed because of the workload and responsibilities at IMS in the position I was in, because I had the workload of a couple of people and sometimes had to put in many hours, some of them at home. Times when I was so tired and burnout I didn't want to look at a computer again ever. But it all added up to me being able to function now and that to God's Glory.
Had it not been for God opening doors, and giving me opportunities, I would still be sitting at a test bench figuring out broken electronics and coming up with test procedures.
I praise God for all of it! I didn't tell everything. But God is GREAT!

Brother John that is so awesome,
I went to School for computer science degree. I started out with Pascal, Data base programming and C, but Then I got into Puch cards, RPG, and Unix Script, I also took visual Basic which was cool for windows based programming, but then I took a photoshop class and was hooked, I knew that this was it, I took bryce 3D, Flash 4, and Illustrator.
At dirst I didn't know what to do with them but then I took an Html class at the college and I used Photoshop and started making web pages. I went to our city counsel and designed the first site for the city. Then I started doing churches. Now I'm so busy I can hardly do my own. But it's fun I love it.

Running Ditto Tapes and copying Data from tape to reel, but now we have started downloading everything to a CD library.
We use a Tempest link protocol bouncing back and forth from a token ring network of 350 computers and the mainframe.
My job is transfering Credit Card transactions of about $350 Thousand a night via the Internet to the companies bank for processing.
It keeps me busy all night, the only bad thing is we can't go on the internet for personal stuff so I could never use my work computer to come here.

Amen!! No peace, No Holiness, No Jesus!! He will only take a church that is without blemish or wrinkle. And those that are irreprensable in all areas of their being, spirit, soul & flesh.
In His Name!!
