His NAME is Jesus!

Recently heard a message from a young man...young in years and in the Ministry. I really believe it touched upon some good points to ponder.

First of all, a server:
Is working for whomever he serves
Is expecting something in remuneration for his services, from those he serves, in the form of money, promotion, PRAISE, recognition, or some other 'entitlement'

A servant:
Is called of the Lord
Receives a Ministry (from the Lord) and performs it
Expects NOTHING in return for his services
Receives rebuke and scorn from the recipients
Is continually admonished to 'conform' to 'their' standards

Maybe there are some posters who could expound on this. Which leads to the question:
Are YOU a server, or a servant?

You did not specify if just for "ministers" although it IS in the Ministry area.
This will be brief, I am a servant for all the reasons stated in your post, except that I have not yet been rebuked for it, nor expected to conform to standards (of which we are to avoid talk of anymore).. Anything I do for the cause of outer 'holiness', along with inner holiness, is by my volition. And so, my only reason for doing the work of the LORD is because that is what I (and all us saints) were called to do. We're not here to warm the pews, but to get up and GO!
Show HIS love by serving others. Its catching!

this is good. so many who call themselves servants of God are actually servers, not of God, but of men. the bible calls them men-pleasers.

Men who will please men will by their nature respond to that call. They cannot work well with others, unless it's to their advantage.

On the other hand, servants will eventually gravitate to one another by the Spirit of the servant that abides in them. They will ALWAYS work well together, because their heart's only desire is to please Him.
